This is a complete transformation of the outgoing Fanatic Downwinder series with the arrival of the new Downwinder SLS by Duotone. Shaped by the Hawaiian young gun minds of the Spencer brothers, Finn and Jeffrey, in collaboration with the team at Duotone, the Downwinder is an exhilarating foil board that delivers high performance and precision.
The Downwinder SLS boasts a stepped range of sleek, fast, and streamlined designs across number of key sizes and volumes. These four distinct shapes ensure there is a board for your riding style and expertise as well as foiling goals. From the nimble 6’4" × 19” and 6’10” × 20" to the versatile 7’2” × 21” and the stable 7’8” × 22.5”, the Duotone Downwinder SLS caters to riders of all levels. While volumes span from 85 to 135 litres, enabling you to further refine your foil board selection.
Engineered for impeccable take-off speed, the Duotone Downwinder SLS features a low rocker, elongated outline, and clean bottom contours. This enables you to accelerate effortlessly, while the slender pin tails features distinct rail bevels on larger models, allowing you to glide smoothly over the water, prompting early flight with minimal effort. The refined nose area, graced with rounded rails, enhances stability and minimises unexpected manoeuvres keeping everything on track. This all promotes lots of confidence underfoot rather than battling your board as you glide upwards.
Constructed in bespoke lightweight full carbon lay-up, the Downwinder SLS is uncompromising in its approach. While exceptionally light weight, the compromise in this pursuit of weight reduction does mean the Downwinder needs to be handled with care around hard objects such as stones and rockers.
