The Starboard Lima sees Starboard best performing paddle be developed further still by the most successful roster of SUP athletes in the world to develop yet more power and efficiency in an even lighter weight package.
The all-new concave on the power face of the Starboard Lima guides the water throughout the blade controlling the feathering and increasing the water flow speed. While the overall outline of the blade shape is much higher aspect delivering more power earlier and low down the blades face while also exiting the water faster enabling you to engage your next catch sooner – the result being more speed from a great and more controlled power delivery.
Starboard's top of the line super light, strong and responsive blade technology has taken another leap, now using full cover pre-impregnated top of the line 3K and Uni-directional Carbon Fibers. Along with the controlled resin uptake, the overall strength and durability are significantly increased, making the paddle much more resistant to impact.
Now for those who are new to SUP would be confused to know the difference between the shaft types. Well, not to worry as we're here! There are two different shaped shafts that we offer. The Oval shaft is 34 x 29 mm which provides precise and controlled grip which has been shaped to naturally fit in the hand for a more direct tracking and alignment. This is perfect for those who prioritise grip. This Oval shaft makes the paddle feel more natural to the touch, with no sharp angles, it gives great comfort and grip all in one package.
The Round shaft measures 29mm diameter which is one of the lightest and most versatile shafts for those looking to use this paddle for more than one style. This is a standard of an all-round equivalent, using less material to make it as light as possible and giving you an excellent ride. This can be more suited towards SUP surf, SUP, race, touring and more giving more flexibility.
Now for the Flex options. The S35 is a popular shaft especially to those on the taller side looking for a long paddle that are focusing on a paddle going towards gaining tons of power for shorter distance sprinting or racing, enabling for more power every stroke without losing power from flex. This paddle is also focused on those who are on the larger side even for surfing.
The S40 is more of balanced shaft flex, posing more flex than the S35 which is geared more towards those on the lighter side, giving an option to use it for not only racing but surfing, foiling and more. This brings a balance of stiffness and flex, giving the best of both worlds.
