SIC (Sandwich Island Composites) from Maui are a renowned leader in the design and manufacture of some of the World’s fastest and most successful Stand Up Paddle boards. With a pedigree that is deeply rooted in downwind paddling, racing and surf, the SIC range of paddleboards, both inflatable and composite, appeal and work for a much broader range of paddler than you might first think. It was only natural that we include SIC paddleboards for demo to our Test Centre.
Led by shaper Mark Raaphorst, the team at SIC use decades of shaping know how and on the water experience to design and refine, some of the most successful paddleboard shapes ever made. Whether it is World Champion Conor Baxter winning the Molokai to Oahu on a SIC 17.1 Bullet or you blasting around the race course on the all new SIC Rocket Ship (RS), you can rest easy that the team at SIC have done everything possible to ensure you have the most focussed paddleboard for your chosen discipline.
Here at The SUP Company we wanted to give customers the opportunity to experience paddling the very best Stand Up Paddleboards available and we are thrilled to be able to offer you the opportunity to sample some models from the SIC range at our Test Centre in Southampton. So if you are looking for a great downwind board like the SIC Bullet or want to find out just how quick the new SIC RS then you need to visit our waterside shop on the banks of the River Itchen.

The SUP Company Test Centre works by offering one hour slots which you can book any day of the week between 1000 – 1600hrs (last booking is 1500hrs).
During your time you can try up to three different paddle boards and three different SUP paddles.
We do make a small charge of £25 per person (payable at the time of booking) for your hour, however this is 100% refundable should you go on to purchase a paddle board from ourselves.
Also prior to letting you out on the water, we will need to see a recognised form of photo id such as a driver’s license or passport.
Simply make your booking request with at least 24 hours notice by phone on 02380 172189 or firstname.lastname@example.org and list which boards and paddles you would like to try. We will then be able to confirm availability and make your booking for you.
We will then send you an email to confirm your booking along with directions and details for parking.
Please note that demand is very high at weekends, so we highly recommend making your booking as soon as possible.
