If you are interested in a paddle board whether it be a hard SUP or an inflatable paddle board, then you would have heard of Starboard - the largest and arguably most innovative SUP manufacturer in the world.
While we take time and care in preparing a range of SUP and paddle reviews, we understand that purchasing an inflatable paddle board or hard shell high performance SUP is something that most would like to consider and test for themselves. We believe that by providing the opportunity to test a range of models back to back, you are truly able to make an informed, real decision and find the paddle board and paddle package which is best for you.
Our Starboard SUP Test Centre offers you the unique opportunity to try a range of Starboard SUP’s and paddles of differing constructions and sizes at our premises in Southampton on either the neighboring River Itchen or our lake.

The SUP Company Starboard Co Test Centre works by offering one hour slots which you can book any day of the week between 1000 – 1600hrs (last booking is 1500hrs).
During your time you can try three different paddle boards and three different SUP paddles.
We do make a small charge of £25 per person (payable at the time of booking) for the hours slot, however this is 100% refundable should you go on to purchase a paddle board from ourselves.
Also prior to letting you out on the water, we will need to see a recognised form of photo id such as a driver’s license or passport.
Simply make your booking request with at least 24 hours notice by phone on 02380 172189 or email at help@thesupco.com , and list which boards and paddles you would like to try. We will then be able to confirm availability and make your booking for you.
We will then send you an email to confirm your booking along with directions and details for parking.
Please note that demand is very high at weekends, so booking is essential.
