The ONE Edge PRO 2. Hollow GT uses a glass fibre construction that delivers a high-end performance that is easily accessed by a broad range of paddlers. The most striking thing about this SUP though is not its performance but its price point – a hollow board construction for less than a carbon sandwich construction.
There is simply nothing like the Edge PRO 2.0 with its refined nose, purposeful outline and truly unique tail design. The nose of this SUP slices through the water, carving out a path for the single concave underside of the midsection to come into effect. The combination of the deep dugout design and this deep centre concave hull shape creates an exceptionally stable board that belies its width. Even the venturi drains are crafted with such precision that you get the reassuring sense that everything has a purpose and only one thing in mind; performance. The tail section of the Edge PRO 2.0 is something that makes absolute sense and is one of the keys to the incredible acceleration and top speed of this paddleboard. The shoulders of the tail remain clear of the water when the conditions are flat, reducing the wetted surface area leaving water to flow uninterrupted from the pintail design. When engaging a tail turn or in choppy conditions, the volume in the raised shoulders come into effect and make contact with the water's surface. This creates a great stabilising effect that ensures you carry out your buoy turns quicker and can paddle in a broader range of conditions. Another advantage of the Edge PRO 2.0’s slippery tail design is that it is very difficult to draft – making it disruptive in the draft train around a racecourse, giving you on the upside of a draught and no option for someone to catch a tow.
The female moulded construction of this Edge PRO 2.0 means that lightness and rigidity are guaranteed. At around 11.5kg in overall weight, this board is lighter than many brands carbon sandwich constructions which actually weigh more and are not as rigid. The overall finish of the ONE Edge PRO 2.0 is simply perfect – quite simply the most detail and emphasis on quality we have ever seen.
