The 2023 Red Paddle Co 12'6 Sport is an excellent fast cruising and touring inflatable paddleboard. The 12'6 Sport is also a very capable SUP for those wanting to try their hand at racing as it is not only efficient over short and long distances but also very stable for its given width.
The 12’6 Sport is a hugely capable board and this 2023 iteration is only more so thanks to the new tail release edge and new RSS battens. With a cleaner, smoother, faster water release and a stiffer board – the 12’6 Sport performs be than ever before.
The deck of the 2023 12’6 Sport has also seen a number of refinements including a larger deck pad as well as Red Paddle Co’s new one-touch bungee belt system.
Working well for paddlers up to 150kg, the 2023 12’6 Sport with its reduced width of 30” inches also means the paddle is nearer the centre line but not at the expense of stability. This width combined with the 9" FCS touring fin delivers excellent tracking while paddling. Factor in the extra rigidity of the patented RSS battens and you have an inflatable SUP from Red Paddle Co which really performs and is extremely rewarding to paddle. We are thrilled to see the 12’6 Sport return to the Red Paddle Co 2023 range.
Faster to paddle and with a much sportier feel than the Red Paddle Co RIDE's, the versatile Red Paddle Co 12'6 SPORT is a true halfway house that sits evenly between an all-rounder and a race board. With 50 litres more volume (a total of 350 litres) than the Red Paddle Co 11 SPORT and at 5.9" / 150mm thick the Red Paddle Co. 12.6 SPORT can comfortably carry 150kg / 19.7 stone. SUP board rigidity is further improved by the addition of Red Paddle Co's patented Rocker Stiffening System(RSS battens). The RSS battens mean the Red Paddle Co. 12'6 SPORT is stiffer than other boards of this size and thickness.
What makes Red Paddle Co inflatable SUP boards unique is their Mono Structural Laminate (MSL) composite and airtight coating. MSL is unique to Red Paddle Co and fuses the second layer of hard-wearing polymer to the drop-stitch core at the raw material stage, removing hand glueing errors. This high-tech industrial process also saves almost 2kg in weight and makes the boards stiffer at lower pressures, when compared to other brands. This combined with Red Paddle Co’s Tec-Air technology which enables inflation up to 22PSI means this inflatable SUP is one of the stiffest available.
