The new 2023 Starboard iGo Tikhine Sun Deluxe is a vibrant all-round inflatable SUP from Starboard. The longer waterline length of the board increases speed and tracking for riders up to 100 kg, making the 2022 Starboard iGo Tikhine Sun Deluxe a fantastic and accessible, sporty iSUP that suits a wide range of paddlers.
The Starboard Tikhine Sun 2023 might be new to the Starboard Inflatable SUP range but it utilises a proven shape from Starboard in the form of the Starboard Blend. This paddleboard outline has proven to be a great cross over the board, working well in a variety of conditions from flat water to surf. As a Starboard Tikhine, the Sun is also rich in well-designed features such as its built-in shoulder carry strap, soft grip deck pad, paddle holder and soft central carry handle which lies flat during Yoga sessions.
Starboard's inflatable Zen board construction includes more drop-stitch fibres and twin compression stringers combined to produce a much stiffer board. While overall paddleboard weight has been lowered due to a reduction in the coating and glue used, creating the lightest Starboard inflatable ever. Flexible reinforcement plates have also been nested together in key standing areas completing this excellent construction method.
The 2022 Starboard Tikhine Sun comes complete with the lightweight, stylish and wheeled Re-Cover board bag, Starboard Double Action Pump, Starboard lightweight leash, Waterproof phone case, repair kit, – ready for you to take to the water and achieve the ‘Zen’ mindset.
The New Woven Drop stitch Technology makes the Deluxe Starboard Range one of the most performant constructions in the world of SUP.
Fusion Woven Drop stitch fabrics reduce stretch, hold more tension and create a stiffer board all this while using less material than conventional drop stitch. This results in a lighter board that is extremely stiff, thanks to fusion lamination of the top and bottom layers in a glueless process.
Heat Welded Rail technology turns 2 pieces of material into a single solid unit, resulting in an extra-strong mechanical bond making it stronger, more durable and better for the environment. The welding process creates a complete airtight seam without the risk of glue weakening over time.
