Starboard 9'0" Longboard Starlite, designed and built to perform in all waves from 1ft small beach breaks up to head high reef breaks. The Starboard Longboard offer faster down-the-line surfing while keeping the ability to perform in critical sections of the waves.
2022 see's the proven 9'0" x 28" model joined by an all-new 9'0" x 26" wide model for higher skilled riders as well as those weighing up to 75kg.
With a full nose outline, it gives the Longboard float and stability to ride toes on the nose for that classic old school longboard style. The Starboard 9'0" Longboard features a gradual nose kick to allow for a smooth take off into the wave without pearling. The gradual nose kick flows into a flat midsection for delivering speed into the moderate tail kick giving responsive turning.
A parallel straight outline through the midpoint gives a smooth glide that makes it easy to trim the board. The Starboard Longboard 9'0" bottom has a double concave making the board effortlessly roll onto its rails to turn from the standing area. The Longboard is very reactive in bottom turns due to its narrow diamond tail shape.
This version of the Starboard 9'0" Longboard is constructed using Starboard trusted Starlite construction which features their strongest rail ever that uses a woven 200g twill azure for the ultimate in rail protection. While a combination of twin T-stringers fixed in the deck and bottom protect against total breakage. This strength is due to the T-stringers being positioned close to the rail with the result of an i-beam to endure heavy drops and strong wideouts. Starboard's Starlite construction now features a full deck of 0.6mm Australian pine wood that is sandwiched between 2 glass outer skins, further increasing the overall total breakage strength while reducing the weight of each board due to lower resin absorption.
