The Duotone Foil Cruise Set Complete AL is the package you choose when you want the easiest, calmest and safest route into Foil Assist. Everything is tuned around stability and confidence: the shorter Cruise Mast AL (80cm), the generous-volume Duotone Midfish Air Inflatable Foil Board", the big Free 1500 front wing and an included prop guard. Together they create a super-friendly platform for first-time foilers, families and schools, while still offering plenty of headroom for progression once you get the basics dialled.

The motor is fully integrated into the 80cm Cruise mast, positioned lower on the mast for a lower centre of thrust and more predictable behaviour at low speed. The two 7Ah batteries sit in the eHarness around your waist, keeping the board feeling light and free. You ride a real foilboard with a big, forgiving wing, and simply add power when you need help: for first take-offs, wobbly touchdowns, getting back upwind, or cruising through tired legs at the end of a session.

Who this set is best for (height, weight & level)

Because this Complete Cruise set has one board size and one front wing, the choice is really about whether this combo suits you.

Rider level

• Ideal for complete beginners to foiling who want maximum stability and safety.
• Perfect for families sharing one setup across a range of abilities.
• Excellent for schools and centres building an easy, confidence-inspiring Cruise setup.
• Also works for improvers who can already foil a bit but want a very forgiving platform for learning jibes, tacks and basic downwind lines.

Rider weight (rough guide)

• Works well for riders from roughly 65–105kg.
• At the lighter end (~65–75kg) you’ll have lots of float and very low take-off speeds – great for early learning.
• Around 75–95kg is the true sweet spot – plenty of stability on the 6'10 with the Free 1500 wing giving easy lift without feeling ridiculously big.
• Above 95–105kg, it’s still very usable thanks to the 115L board and big wing, especially with the assist helping you up onto foil.

If you’re significantly under ~65kg and already foil confidently, this combo will feel very forgiving (almost over-gunned) – still fine for learning new moves, but you might eventually want a smaller Midfish and wing. If you’re well over ~105kg, it can still work, but we’d encourage a quick chat so we can fine-tune expectations and settings for your conditions.

Wing: Free 1500 – big, early-lifting, stable

• The Free 1500 front wing is chosen for this Cruise package because it makes life easy:
• Big surface area (~1500cm²) for very early lift at low speeds.
• Lots of low-speed stability – ideal for learning pitch control and basic turning without feeling on a knife-edge.
• Plenty of glide at cruising speeds, so you can let the assist help you up, then back the power off and enjoy the ride.
• Mounted on the AL 66 3BS fuselage with the Duotone adapter fuselage, it gives a calm, predictable feel that’s perfect for early sessions, family sharing and school use.

Compared to smaller wings, the Free 1500 lets you:

• Take off at lower speeds with less aggressive pumping.
• Ride with more margin for error when learning to step, jibe or change feet.
• Use gentler power settings on the assist to extend battery life.

Cruise Mast AL 80cm – user-friendly assist

The Foil Assist Cruise Mast AL (80cm) is designed specifically for beginners and intermediate foilers:

• The motor pod is mounted 15cm above the fuselage, giving a lower centre of thrust and a calmer, more forgiving response when learning.
• Slightly shorter than the standard 84cm Assist mast, the 80cm length is less intimidating, especially in choppy water or shallow spots.
• It shares the same internally routed cables and stiff, surf-inspired profile as the main Assist mast, so once you’re flying it still feels precise and efficient.
• It comes with an included propeller guard, which bolts on with three small screws – highly recommended for first-timers, families and schools.
• You still get the full 33kg of thrust and all the clever electronics of the regular Foil Assist, just tuned through a mast that’s friendlier for learning and cruising.

eHarness sizing – getting the fit right

The eHarness carries both 7Ah batteries around your waist. For comfort and control it needs to be snug but not restrictive – think “firm wetsuit belt”, not “tight trouser belt”.

Two size ranges are available:
S–M: approx. 71–89 cm / 28″–35″
Best for slimmer riders, teens and smaller adults, especially in lighter summer wetsuits.

L–XXL: approx. 89–114 cm / 35″–45″
Best for broader waists, thicker winter suits or anyone who prefers more overlap and padding.

Measure around where the harness will sit, wearing your usual wetsuit. If you’re on the borderline or mostly ride in a 5/4mm or thicker, L–XXL is generally the safer option.

The harness itself is buoyant and non-water-absorbing, with a magnetic connection and quick-release, so it stays light in the water and you’re never “locked in”.

Battery runtime, charging & travel

This Cruise Complete set uses the same battery system as the other Foil Assist AL packages:

• 2 × 7Ah LIHV batteries, each around 159.6Wh, used together.
• Typical assist time around 45 minutes, with most riders seeing between 35–55 minutes depending on weight, wing size and how hard they lean on the trigger.
• The included Smart Charger delivers a fast charge in roughly 45 minutes under normal conditions.

The ~159.6Wh capacity per pack is deliberately chosen to sit just below the commonly used 160Wh airline limit for lithium batteries, making this one of the very few realistic electric foil options for destination trips, provided you follow airline rules on carrying lithium packs in hand luggage.
