Parawings

Shop parawings for foiling, downwind riding, freefly sessions and wind-assisted glide. Parawings are compact, hand-held wings designed for experienced foilers who want a lighter, more packable alternative to a traditional inflatable wing.

Choosing the right parawing depends on your weight, wind range, foil setup, board choice and riding style. At The SUP Company, we can help you match the right parawing with your existing kit, or build a complete setup around your goals.

Parawing buying advice

Who are parawings best suited to?

Parawings are best suited to riders who already have solid foil control. They are not usually the easiest route for complete beginners because they require good board balance, foil awareness and confidence managing power without the stability of a traditional inflatable wing.

If you are still learning to wingfoil, start by browsing our wingfoiling wings. If you are already foiling and want a more compact, downwind-focused or freefly-friendly option, a parawing could be a very exciting next step.

How do I choose the right parawing?

The main things to consider are your rider weight, usual wind strength, foil size, board efficiency and how much power you want in your hands. Bigger parawings give more pull in lighter wind. Smaller parawings feel cleaner and easier to manage when the wind is stronger or when you are already moving efficiently on foil.

Your board and foil matter just as much as the wing itself. A more efficient downwind foil board or specialist foil board can make parawinging easier because it helps you get up to speed with less effort.

Parawing vs wingsurfer: which should I buy?

A traditional wingsurfer is usually better for learning, freeride wingfoiling, slower-speed handling and easier transitions. A parawing is more specialised. It is lighter, more compact and better suited to riders who want less equipment in their hands once they are up and riding.

For most newer riders, a wingfoiling wing is the better starting point. For confident foilers looking at downwind, freefly, pump, surf or glide-focused riding, a parawing can make a lot of sense.

What should I pair with a parawing?

A good parawing setup needs the right board and foil underneath it. Look at foil boards, wing foil boards, downwind foil boards and foils when building the full system.

If you already own a foil setup, check compatibility before buying. The right parawing size can change depending on your foil’s lift, glide and speed range.

Brands and ranges to consider

This collection includes parawing equipment from specialist watersports brands such as Duotone and Ozone. You can also explore our wider Duotone Wing & Foil collection for compatible wings, boards, foils and accessories.

For product-specific advice, speak to The SUP Company before ordering. We can help you compare sizes, check whether the product suits your current setup and avoid buying something too technical, too small or too powerful for your conditions.

Try, Advise, Ride: demo and setup support

Parawings are technical products, so good advice matters. Through The SUP Co x Lymington, we can help with wing, foil and parawing setup guidance, including suitable demo options where available.

Our approach is simple: try where possible, get proper advice before buying, then ride with a setup that suits your ability, local conditions and progression goals.

Parawing FAQs

Are parawings good for beginners?

Usually not. Parawings are better for riders who can already foil confidently. If you are new to wingfoiling, a standard inflatable wing will normally be easier to learn with.

What is the difference between a parawing and a wing?

A wing is normally inflatable, more structured and easier for learning. A parawing is lighter, more compact and more specialised, making it better suited to confident foilers who want a freer, more packable setup.

What size parawing do I need?

That depends on your weight, wind range, foil size, board efficiency and riding style. Bigger sizes give more low-wind pull, while smaller sizes are easier to handle in stronger wind or once you are riding efficiently.

Can I use a parawing with my current foil board?

Possibly, but not every foil board will feel ideal. Parawinging works best with a board that gets up to speed efficiently and matches your foil, ability and intended conditions.

Do I need a special foil for parawinging?

You do not always need a special foil, but a foil with good glide, early lift and predictable control will make parawinging easier. Ask us if you want help checking your current foil setup.

Can I demo a parawing before buying?

Selected demo options may be available through The SUP Company, particularly via our Lymington setup. Demo availability depends on the product, rider suitability and current stock.
