Tahe FAQs
Which Tahe board is best for beginners?
Most beginners suit a stable all-round board (often around the 10'6 size bracket, depending on weight). Tell us your height/weight and where you’ll paddle and we’ll point you to the safest, easiest option.
What is a SUP-Yak, and is it worth it?
A SUP-Yak setup lets you paddle standing up like a SUP, or clip in a seat and paddle sit-down like a kayak. It’s perfect if you want a more relaxed option for longer paddles, windy days, or mixed-ability family use.
Do I need a different paddle for SUP and kayak mode?
Ideally yes (or a convertible paddle). SUP paddles are designed for standing cadence; kayak paddles suit seated paddling. We can recommend the cleanest option based on how you’ll use the board most.
Is a 12'6 inflatable too big?
Not if you’re planning longer paddles. A 12'6 shape tracks straighter and glides better, so it can actually feel easier over distance. The key is matching length/volume to your weight and goals.
