The quick answer

Part-exchange is designed for customers who want to upgrade without the hassle of private selling. You send us details and photos, we provide a provisional valuation, and if accepted, the value can be used towards your next purchase from The SUP Company.

Best for

Customers upgrading equipment

Ideal if you already own a SUP, wing, foil board, wing or foil setup and want to move into something newer, faster, lighter, more stable or better suited to your progression.

Main benefit

No private selling hassle

Avoid listing, messaging, negotiating, waiting in for buyers and dealing with uncertain payments. We keep the process simple and focused on your next upgrade.

Important note

Valuations are subject to inspection

Any initial offer is based on the information and photos supplied. Final approval depends on the item matching the description and passing our inspection process.

Why use The SUP Company part-exchange service?

Selling used watersports equipment privately can be time-consuming, especially with larger items such as paddleboards, foil boards and full foil systems. Part-exchange gives you a clearer route from your current setup to your next one.

Upgrade without selling privately

No marketplace listings, no awkward negotiations and no arranging viewings with uncertain buyers.

Experience-led valuation

Our team understands paddleboards, wings, foils, board construction, model years and condition, so valuations are based on real watersports knowledge.

Credit towards your next setup

Use the agreed value towards new equipment from The SUP Company, helping reduce the cost of your upgrade.

Advice on what to buy next

We will help you choose equipment that genuinely fits your next step, rather than simply replacing old kit with something similar.

What equipment can be considered?

Part-exchange is available on selected products only, but we will consider a range of quality watersports equipment depending on brand, model year, condition and current resale demand.

Paddleboards

Inflatable SUPs, touring boards, all-round boards, race boards and selected hard composite paddleboards may be considered depending on age, condition and brand.

Wings and wingfoil boards

Selected wings, wing foil boards, inflatable foil boards and hard foil boards may be considered, especially where they are from recognised brands and in good usable condition.

Foiling equipment

Foil front wings, rear stabilisers, masts, fuselages and complete foil systems may be considered, subject to brand, compatibility, condition and demand.

Accessories and packages

Complete packages with bags, pumps, fins, paddles, screws or accessories may be easier to value when all parts are present and clearly photographed.

How the part-exchange service works

1. Send us your equipment details

Email help@thesupco.com with clear photographs of the equipment you would like to part-exchange.

Please include full-view images of each item, close-ups of any wear or damage, and details of the brand, model, size, year if known, and any included accessories.

The more accurate the information, the more accurate the provisional valuation can be.

2. Receive a no-obligation valuation

Our team will review the information and provide a provisional part-exchange valuation.

There is no obligation to accept. You can decide whether the offer works for you and whether you would like to move forward with an upgrade.

3. Collection or drop-off is arranged

If you accept the offer, we can arrange collection via our third-party courier where suitable, or you may be able to bring the equipment to our Southampton HQ by arrangement.

Courier collections are booked into a timed window, so you should not need to wait around all day.

All items must be boxed securely and well protected for transport.

4. Inspection at our Southampton HQ

Once your equipment arrives with us, it will be checked by our team to confirm the condition matches the information supplied.

Inflatable paddleboards are pressure tested over a 24-hour period. Wings and inflatable foil boards may also be checked for air retention, valve condition and visible wear where appropriate.

Foil systems, hard boards and other equipment will be visually inspected for damage, corrosion, missing parts or compatibility issues.

5. Credit is applied to your next purchase

Once the equipment has passed inspection, the agreed part-exchange value can be used towards your next purchase from The SUP Company.

Our team can then help you choose the right replacement board, wing, foil or complete setup for your next step.

How to get the most accurate valuation

A clear, honest description helps us value your equipment quickly and fairly. Please include as much detail as possible when you email us.

  • Brand, model and size of each item
  • Approximate model year or purchase date if known
  • Clear full-length photos of the top, bottom and sides
  • Close-up photos of any damage, repairs, marks or wear
  • Photos of serial numbers where relevant
  • Details of any included accessories, bags, pumps, fins, leashes, screws or covers
  • Any known faults, slow leaks, repairs, missing parts or cosmetic issues

If the final inspection shows the item is not as described, the valuation may be reduced, declined or the item returned at the customer’s cost.

Choosing your new equipment

Part-exchange is most useful when it helps you move into equipment that genuinely suits your next step. Our team will support you through the upgrade process, taking time to understand where you are now and where you want to progress next.
