Description
Description
The Red Paddle Co 12'6 Elite is a dedicated racing inflatable designed specifically for paddlers who want to move fast. If you are looking to enter your first race, improve your personal bests, or simply enjoy the sensation of effortless glide on your local waterway, the 12'6 Elite is the benchmark. It is designed for riders who prioritize speed and tracking without the logistical headache of a 12-foot-long hard board.
Within the Red Paddle Co range, the Elite sits above the Sport series. While the Sport is a fantastic "fast cruiser," the Elite is a focused racing tool. At 26" wide, it requires a more disciplined stance than a touring board, making it the perfect choice for intermediate to advanced paddlers who have outgrown wider shapes and want to feel the immediate reward of every stroke.
Why Choose the 12'6 Elite?
- Unmatched Stiffness: Thanks to the RSS battens and FFC (Forward Flex Control) system, this board resists the "bounce" often found in longer inflatables, ensuring all your energy goes into forward motion.
- Effortless Glide: The narrow template and 12'6 length allow the board to maintain momentum between strokes, reducing fatigue over long distances.
- Portability without Compromise: You get the performance of a hard race board with the ability to pack it into a backpack for international travel or easy storage.
- Progression: This is a board that rewards technique. As your balance and power improve, the board reveals more speed, making it a long-term investment in your fitness.

Is a 26" wide board stable enough for me?
If you have experience on a standard 32" all-rounder, the 26" Elite will feel "lively" at first. However, the 5.9" thickness provides plenty of secondary stability. It is an ideal width for those looking to develop their racing skills without the extreme instability of a 24" pro-level board.
How does the FFC system work?
The Forward Flex Control system uses a carbon rod that pushes against the front of the board while being anchored further back. It effectively "pre-tensions" the board, making the front half feel as rigid as a composite race board. It takes less than a minute to set up.
Can I use this for touring?
While its primary job is racing, the 12'6 Elite is an excellent choice for "fast touring." If you aren't carrying heavy camping gear and want to cover 10-15km quickly, this board is much more efficient than a wider touring model.
