Is a folding board as strong as a standard inflatable?

Absolutely. Red Paddle Co has engineered the Compact range using a higher-tensile drop stitch and a quad-stringer system. It is designed to handle the same 15-22 PSI as their standard boards, providing a rock-solid platform that doesn't compromise on durability.

Why is the paddle 5 pieces?

To fit into the smaller backpack, the carbon paddle is designed to break down into five sections. Despite the joins, the engineering ensures it feels stiff and comfortable in the hand, giving you a high-performance feel that matches the board.

Is this board suitable for beginners?

Yes, provided you fall within the recommended weight limit. At 32" wide, it is stable enough for most novices, though its shorter length means it won't track in a straight line quite as easily as a longer 10'6" or 10'8" board.
