Description

The Code Foils High Modulus Mast is the original premium carbon mast in the Code Foils range, built for riders who want a stiff, predictable and efficient connection between board and foil. A good mast should almost disappear under your feet: no vague movement, no delayed response and no wasted energy when you pump, carve or push hard through chop. That is exactly where this mast earns its place.

This is a strong choice for experienced wing foilers, prone foilers, SUP foilers, downwind riders and pump foilers who already ride, or are building into, the Code Foils ecosystem. It gives you the direct feel that makes Code foils so rewarding without jumping straight to the more expensive Ultra High Modulus Plus option.

Where it sits in the Code mast range

Think of the High Modulus Mast as the proven carbon performance option in the Code range. It sits above aluminium mast options in weight, stiffness and response, but below the Ultra High Modulus Plus Mast in outright stiffness.

Choose the High Modulus Mast if you want a light, stiff and high-performance carbon mast for everyday performance foiling. If you are a heavier rider, regularly ride very wide front wings, or are chasing the sharpest possible response for high-load downwind, pump or race-style riding, the Ultra High Modulus Plus Mast may be the upgrade to consider. For most riders building a serious Code setup, the High Modulus Mast is the sensible performance sweet spot.

Why choose the Code Foils High Modulus Mast?

  • Direct connection underfoot: the high modulus carbon construction gives a stiff, responsive feel so your input transfers cleanly into the foil.
  • Predictable pumping: less unwanted movement means less wasted energy, especially when linking bumps, pumping out of turns or working through flat sections.
  • Efficient glide: Code’s slim, efficient mast profile is designed to keep drag low so the foil can keep running cleanly through the water.
  • Confidence in turns: the extended base blend helps create a more planted, solid feel when carving, banking or loading the foil.
  • Three useful length options: choose 75cm, 80cm or 85cm depending on your discipline, water depth and how much clearance you want.
  • Built for the Code ecosystem: designed to work with Code Foils front wings, tails and fuselages for a clean, performance-focused setup.

Choosing the right mast length

Size Approx. length Best suited to
75cm 29.5" Shallower spots, prone foiling, dock starting, pumping and riders who want a slightly more forgiving mast length.
80cm 31.5" The all-round choice for most riders. A great one-mast option for winging, prone, SUP, pump and downwind crossover use.
85cm 33.5" More clearance in chop and swell, better for wing foiling, bigger water, faster riding and riders who want more room to bank through turns.

FAQs

Is the Code Foils High Modulus Mast the same as the Ultra High Modulus Plus Mast?

No. The High Modulus Mast is the original premium carbon mast in the Code range. The Ultra High Modulus Plus Mast uses a stiffer layup and is aimed at riders who want the sharpest possible response, especially under higher loads. For many riders, the High Modulus Mast remains the best balance of stiffness, weight, performance and value.

Which length should I choose?

As a simple guide, choose 75cm for shallower water, prone, dock start and pump-focused riding; 80cm if you want the most versatile one-mast option; and 85cm if you want more clearance for wing foiling, chop, swell and faster riding. If you are unsure, the 80cm is usually the safest all-round choice.

Is this mast suitable for wing foiling?

Yes. The 80cm and 85cm sizes are particularly relevant for wing foiling. The 80cm gives a strong all-round feel, while the 85cm gives extra clearance in chop and more room to bank through turns.

Can I use this mast for downwind foiling?

Yes. The stiffness and efficiency of the High Modulus Mast make it well suited to downwind and SUP foiling, where pumping efficiency and predictable feedback matter. The right length depends on your board, foil size, local water depth and how much clearance you want in bumps.

Is this compatible with all foil brands?

No. Foil systems are not universally interchangeable. This mast is designed for the Code Foils modular system. If you are trying to mix brands or build around existing parts, speak to us before ordering so we can check compatibility.

Does the mast include the rest of the foil?

No. This listing is for the mast only. You will still need a compatible Code fuselage, front wing, rear stabiliser, board and the correct mounting hardware to complete your setup.

Specifications

  • Features

    High modulus carbon construction
The mast is built from high modulus carbon to give a stiff, strong and responsive ride feel. In real terms, this means the foil reacts quickly when you shift weight, pump or initiate a turn, rather than feeling soft or delayed.

Extended blend into the base plate
The wider, more progressive transition into the base plate helps reduce unwanted movement where the mast meets the board. This gives a more solid feel underfoot and improves feedback through turns and pumps.

    Tapered lower mast section
The lower part of the mast is shaped to support glide and efficiency. When you are riding high on the mast, this helps reduce drag and keeps the foil feeling cleaner through the water.

    Deep mast-to-fuselage connection
A secure mast-to-fuselage connection matters because any movement here can make the whole foil feel vague. Code’s connection is designed to feel locked-in, giving you a more predictable ride across surf, wing, SUP and downwind use.
