Description

If your priority is pure speed, clean glide and a race board that feels properly sharp under your feet, the Infinity Whiplash 14 ft Hollow Dugout is one of the standout flat-water race SUPs in the Infinity line-up. This is a premium hollow carbon dugout built for paddlers who already know they want a more focused, specialist race shape rather than a safer all-round option.

On the water, the Whiplash feels quick, efficient and locked in. The lower dugout stance helps you stay connected to the board, the sharp entry helps it cut cleanly through the water, and the tail design is there to keep the board releasing cleanly so you get more speed for the effort you put in. For training, racing, fitness paddles at pace, and flatter venues where glide really matters, this is a serious board.

If you are stepping into race boards for the first time, or want a board that feels more forgiving across mixed UK water, we would usually point you first towards the Infinity Everready Team Elite Carbon or the Infinity Blackfish 14 ft Flat Deck - 2025. If, however, you want the more specialist speed-first option in the Infinity range, the Whiplash is exactly that.

Where it sits in the Infinity race range

The Whiplash is the sharper, more specialist board in the Infinity race family. It is the one to choose when outright pace, flat-water efficiency and a lower dugout feel matter more than broad all-water versatility.

  • Choose the Whiplash if you are an experienced paddler or racer chasing maximum speed and a more focused dugout ride.
  • Choose the Blackfish if you still want race-board pace but with a more classic feel and wider all-water appeal.
  • Choose the Everready if you want the most confidence across mixed UK conditions and want one premium race board to cover the broadest spread of venues.

Why choose the Infinity Whiplash?

  • Built for speed: this is the board in the Infinity range for paddlers who want the most direct, race-focused feel.
  • Excellent glide per stroke: it rewards good technique and carries speed well between strokes.
  • Lower dugout stance: helps you feel more connected and settled when paddling at pace.
  • Precise handling: the refined tail and hull shape help with release, tracking and cleaner buoy turns.
  • Premium hollow construction: light, responsive and built for paddlers who want every performance advantage they can get.

Which size should you choose?

14'0 x 21" is the choice for lighter paddlers, stronger racers and anyone chasing maximum pace who is happy managing a narrower platform.

14'0 x 22.5" is the more sensible option for many advanced paddlers. It still feels fast and properly race-focused, but gives you a bit more breathing room in balance and usability.

If you are unsure which width will actually make you fastest, the best thing you can do is book a Woodmill SUP Test Centre session and compare boards and paddles properly back-to-back.

Helpful reading & buying advice

Is the Infinity Whiplash a good first race board?

Usually no, not for most paddlers. The Whiplash is quite a focused board and makes more sense for experienced paddlers who already know they want a faster, sharper dugout shape. If you are moving up from touring or buying your first premium race board, the Infinity Everready or a wider Blackfish will often be the smarter starting point.

Which width should I choose: 21" or 22.5"?

Choose 21" if you are a lighter or highly capable paddler and want the fastest, most demanding option. Choose 22.5" if you still want a high-performance race board but want a bit more usability and confidence. For many paddlers, the slightly wider option is the quicker real-world choice because you can apply power more consistently.

Is the Whiplash only for flat water?

It is at its best on flat water and in mild chop. It can cope with a bit more than mirror-flat conditions, but this is not the board we would choose as the broadest all-water option in the Infinity range. If your racing regularly involves messier, more mixed water, it is worth comparing it against the Blackfish or Everready.

Does hollow construction need more care?

Yes, as with any premium composite race board, a little care goes a long way. Use a proper board bag when transporting it, avoid knocks on hard surfaces, and store it sensibly. The performance reward is significant, but this is a premium board that deserves looking after properly.

Can I demo the Infinity Whiplash before buying?

Yes. We strongly recommend demoing premium race boards where possible, especially if you are choosing between widths or between models in the Infinity range. You can book a session at our Woodmill SUP Test Centre and compare boards and paddles properly on sheltered water.

Not sure if this is the right race board for you?

That is exactly the sort of decision we can help with. Tell us your height, weight, experience, where you paddle most, and whether your goal is racing, fitness or flat-water speed. We will point you towards the board that makes the most sense in the real world, not just on paper.

Specifications

  • Features

    Hollow carbon construction
The hollow carbon build is a big part of what gives the Whiplash its crisp, lively feel. It keeps weight down and helps the board accelerate quickly, respond cleanly and feel properly race-ready under power.

    Dugout deck
Standing lower in the board improves connection and control. In real terms, that means less wasted movement, better balance when you are pushing, and a more planted feel than a flat-deck board of similar width.

Sharp nose entry with pronounced V underneath
This helps the board cut in cleanly and keeps the feel quiet and efficient on the water. You notice it most when the board is up to speed and you are trying to hold a strong, repeatable race pace.

    Inverse Vee bottom concept
This is part of the way the Whiplash manages water flow under the board. The result is improved tracking and a cleaner, more efficient feel as the board moves through the water.

Hybrid elevated tail with mini-square release
This is one of the design details that makes the Whiplash feel so quick. It helps the board release well for speed, but still gives useful control when you step back for turns or when the water gets a bit more lively.

Carved-out cockpit and flatter rail panel underfoot
Together these details help create a board that feels more usable than the raw width number might suggest. That matters because race boards only feel fast if you can actually stay relaxed enough to paddle them properly.
