Description
Description
The Duotone Unit SLS 2026 is the performance sweet spot in the Unit range. It is lighter, more direct and more responsive than the standard Duotone Unit 2026, but still more practical and everyday-friendly than the full Duotone Unit D/LAB 2026.
For riders who are already wing foiling regularly, the Unit SLS makes a lot of sense. It gives you a crisper feel in the hands, cleaner power delivery, improved drift and lower swing weight, without pushing you into an ultra-specialist wing that only really makes sense for advanced or highly performance-focused riders.
If you are choosing between the Unit and the Float, our in-depth guide is worth reading before buying: Duotone Float vs Duotone Unit: Which Wing Should You Buy?.
Where the Unit SLS Sits in the Duotone Range
The Unit SLS sits between the standard Unit and the D/LAB. That makes it a really strong choice for riders who want premium performance, but still want a wing that feels sensible for regular UK use, travel and mixed conditions.
| Model | Best For | Feel on the Water |
|---|---|---|
| Duotone Unit 2026 | Beginners, improvers and all-round freeride | Stable, forgiving and confidence-building |
| Duotone Unit SLS 2026 | Regular riders wanting a clear performance upgrade | Lighter, stiffer, more direct and more responsive |
| Duotone Unit D/LAB 2026 | Advanced and expert riders chasing maximum performance | Ultra-light, ultra-direct and highly reactive |
Why Choose the Duotone Unit SLS 2026?
- A genuine performance step up – lighter handling and a more connected feel than the standard Unit.
- Excellent all-round range – suitable for freeride, waves, jumps, transitions and general progression.
- Improved drift stability – helpful when flagging the wing out on waves, swell or downwind-style runs.
- Direct on/off power – gives you drive when you want it, but lets the wing settle when you need control.
- Lower swing weight – makes gybes, tacks, transitions and wave riding feel less tiring and more precise.
- Compatible with Fusion Handles or Fusion Boom – choose the control setup that suits your riding style.

FAQs
Who is the Duotone Unit SLS 2026 best for?
The Unit SLS is best for riders who are already wing foiling regularly and want a lighter, more direct and more responsive wing. If you are still learning the basics, the standard Unit is usually the better value choice. If you are riding confidently and want a noticeable step up, the SLS makes a lot of sense.
Should I choose the Unit SLS or the standard Unit?
Choose the standard Unit if you want the most forgiving, durable and cost-effective all-round wing. Choose the Unit SLS if you want a lighter feel, quicker response and better performance for powered freeride, waves, transitions and progression.
How does the Unit SLS compare with the Duotone Float?
The Unit SLS is the better all-round wing if you want one wing for freeride, waves, jumps and progression. The Float is more specialised for wave riding, downwind, freefly and drift-focused riding. If you are unsure, read our full guide here: Duotone Float vs Duotone Unit: Which Wing Should You Buy?.
Does the Duotone Unit SLS come with handles or a boom?
No. The wing is supplied without handles or boom, so you need to choose either the Duotone Fusion Handle Set or the Duotone Fusion Boom. Handles are lighter and more compact; the boom gives more freedom for hand placement.
Is the Unit SLS worth it over the standard Unit?
For regular riders, yes. The lighter construction, stiffer feel and quicker response are noticeable on the water. For beginners or casual riders, the standard Unit may be the more sensible choice. For progressing and intermediate riders who want to push their riding, the SLS is a strong upgrade.
Can I demo the Duotone Unit SLS before buying?
Where demo availability allows, yes. The best way to choose between the Unit, Unit SLS, Unit D/LAB and Float is to feel the difference on the water. You can view available demo equipment through our Try It Now at The SUP Co x Lymington collection.
