Start with the board, not the brand. Measure or check the board’s length, width and thickness, then allow enough room for the rail shape, nose shape and padding. A bag that is too tight can be awkward to use and may put pressure on the rails, nose or tail. A bag that is far too big can let the board slide around inside.
For everyday use, look for enough padding to protect the board in the van, car, garage and on the way to the beach. For travel, look more carefully at padding thickness, carry handles, shoulder straps, internal layout, zipper quality and whether the bag is designed for one board or a fuller foil setup.
