Description

The Duotone Unit SLS 3m 2026 Ex Demo with Fusion Boom is a premium high-wind wing package for riders who want the lighter, stiffer and more responsive feel of Duotone's SLS construction, with the correct 84cm Duotone Fusion Boom included.

The Unit SLS sits between the standard Unit and the D/LAB in Duotone's 2026 range. It delivers a noticeably lighter and more direct feel than the standard construction while remaining a practical everyday performance wing. In 3m, it becomes a fast, compact and extremely manageable option for properly windy days.

This wing has been part of our demo fleet and may therefore show light cosmetic signs consistent with demo use. It represents particularly good value for a rider more interested in performance on the water than having a wing that has never been rigged.

Why choose this Ex Demo Unit SLS?

  • 2026 Unit SLS performance – light, stiff and highly responsive with excellent control when conditions become powered.
  • Duotone Fusion Boom included – supplied with the correct 84cm boom for the 3m wing.
  • Excellent high-wind size – designed for days when larger wings become difficult or uncomfortable to manage.
  • Compact handling – the 3m moves quickly through gybes, tacks, jumps and wave transitions.
  • Direct power delivery – the SLS frame gives a connected feel without excessive movement through the wing.
  • Strong drift performance – particularly useful when flagging the wing while riding swell or waves.
  • Ex-demo value – a particularly cost-effective way into Duotone's premium SLS construction.

The advantage of the Fusion Boom

This package already includes the Duotone Fusion Boom. Importantly, the 3m uses the shorter Fusion Boom M at 84cm, rather than the 96cm boom used on larger Unit sizes.

A continuous boom gives you freedom to place your hands wherever feels natural. That is particularly useful on a small, fast-moving wing where hand position can change quickly during gybes, tacks, jumps and wave riding. It also makes it easier to grab the wing without having to locate an individual handle.

Wind ranges are a guide rather than a guarantee. Rider weight, foil size, board volume, ability, water state and local conditions all have a significant effect on the usable range of any wing.

Who does the 3m Unit SLS suit?

The 3m is primarily a high-wind wing for intermediate and advanced riders. For an average-weight rider it is unlikely to be your everyday wing, but when the wind climbs into the upper twenties and beyond, having a properly sized wing can transform the session.

Smaller and lighter riders may use a 3m considerably more often, particularly at exposed coastal locations. Heavier riders are more likely to keep it as the smallest wing in the quiver for genuinely strong conditions.

If you are still learning your first starts and flights, a 3m is unlikely to be the right first purchase unless you are unusually light or always ride somewhere extremely windy. Browse our complete Duotone Wing & Foil range if you need a more versatile primary wing.

Where does a 3m fit in your quiver?

For most riders, the 3m makes sense as the bottom end of a multi-wing quiver. A 3m / 4m / 5m combination gives excellent coverage for riders who regularly wing in a broad range of UK coastal conditions, while lighter riders may be able to space their sizes further apart.

If you already own a 4m or 5m Unit, adding the 3m gives you the option to stay comfortably powered when conditions rise beyond the sensible upper range of your larger wing while retaining the familiar Unit handling and Fusion control system.

Package includes

  • Duotone Unit SLS 3m – 2026
  • Duotone Fusion Boom M – 84cm

A pump is not included unless specifically stated elsewhere on the listing. Compatible pumps, foiling equipment and accessories can be found within our Duotone Wing & Foil collection.

Unit vs SLS vs D/LAB

The standard Unit remains an excellent choice for riders prioritising durability, predictability and value. The Unit SLS is the performance sweet spot: lighter and more reactive than the standard wing while remaining practical enough to use regularly. The Unit D/LAB takes another step towards minimum weight and maximum response for riders prepared to pay for outright performance.

Frequently asked questions

Does this Duotone Unit SLS 3m include a Fusion Boom?

Yes. This particular ex-demo package includes the correct Duotone Fusion Boom M 84cm. You do not need to purchase the boom separately.

Does the 3m use the same Fusion Boom as the 4m and 5m?

No. This is important when buying additional Unit sizes. The 3m uses the shorter 84cm Fusion Boom M, whereas larger sizes including the 4m and 5m use the longer 96cm Fusion Boom L.

What does Ex Demo mean?

The wing has been used as part of our demo equipment rather than being factory-new. Ex-demo equipment can show light cosmetic marks associated with rigging, handling and use, which is reflected in the reduced price.

What wind range is the 3m designed for?

Duotone gives the 3m Unit SLS 2026 a suggested wind range of approximately 19–37 knots. Your practical range will vary considerably depending on rider weight, foil, board, ability and water conditions.

Is a 3m a good first wing?

For most riders, no. A 3m is primarily a high-wind wing and makes most sense as part of a quiver. Very light riders or those regularly riding at particularly windy locations may find it useful across a wider range of sessions.

What wing should I pair with a 3m?

A 4m is the most natural next size up if you regularly ride in strong winds. A 3m, 4m and 5m quiver provides particularly good coverage for committed UK coastal riders who want relatively small gaps between their wing sizes.

Is the Unit SLS 3m suitable for wave riding?

Yes. The compact span, low weight, responsive steering and stable drift make the 3m particularly appealing for powered wave and swell sessions where a larger wing can quickly become cumbersome.
