Description

AXIS Super Easy Starter (SES) Foil Package

The AXIS Super Easy Starter (SES) package is designed to do exactly what it says on the tin: take the guesswork out of your first steps into foiling. If you have been looking at foil charts and feeling overwhelmed by technical jargon, aspect ratios, and compatibility questions, this package is your shortcut to the water. It provides a complete, perfectly balanced setup that offers the stability you need to learn, without being a "dead end" for your progression.

Range Positioning

Within the AXIS ecosystem, the SES sits as the dedicated entry point. While many high-performance foils are built for speed or aggressive turning, the SES is tuned for early lift and forgiveness. It is the ideal choice for those starting their journey in Wing Foiling, SUP Foiling, or Wake Foiling. Unlike many "beginner" foils that you outgrow in a month, the SES is fully modular. Because it uses the standard AXIS 19mm Red Series system, you won't need to buy a whole new setup when you're ready to progress; you can simply swap out individual wings or masts as your skills evolve.

Why Choose the AXIS SES?

  • Instant Confidence: The wing shape is designed to lift you onto the foil at low speeds, meaning you spend less time struggling and more time flying.
  • Maximum Safety: Rounded wing tips reduce the risk of injury during those inevitable early falls, making the learning process much less intimidating.
  • Simplified Assembly: The integrated "Doodad" system reduces the number of loose parts, making it quicker and easier to put together at the beach.
  • Future-Proof Investment: Being part of the AXIS Red Series means every part of this kit is compatible with the massive range of AXIS wings and masts.
  • Durability: Built with a Paulownia wood core and hybrid glass construction, these wings are tough enough to handle the rigours of the learning phase.

Specifications

The SES package is available in two primary sizes to suit different rider weights and conditions:

  • SES 1040: Best for riders over 80kg (175lbs), or for those learning in light winds and small surf.
    • Wingspan: 1040mm | Surface Area: 1957 sq cm | Volume: 3020 cm³
  • SES 940: Best for riders under 80kg (175lbs), or heavier riders in consistently stronger winds.
    • Wingspan: 940mm | Surface Area: 1668 sq cm | Volume: 2380 cm³
  • Rear Stabiliser: 450/80 (Designed specifically for stability and easy turning).
  • Mast Length: 750mm (29.5 inches).
  • Fuselage Length: 725mm.

Package Includes

  • AXIS SES Front Wing (940 or 1040)
  • AXIS SES 450/80 Rear Stabiliser
  • AXIS 75cm 19mm Aluminium Mast
  • AXIS 19mm Base Plate
  • AXIS SES Red Series Fuselage (725mm)
  • Stainless Steel Bolt Kit & Tool Set
  • Custom-fit Protective Covers for wings
Is this foil only for beginners?

While it is designed to be "Super Easy" to start on, it isn't just a beginner tool. Because it is part of the modular AXIS system, many riders keep the mast and fuselage and simply add faster wings later. The SES itself is also a fantastic "lazy" cruiser for light wind days even for experienced riders.

Which size should I choose if I am right on the 80kg mark?

If you are around 80kg and primarily winging in the UK, we generally recommend the 1040. The extra surface area makes getting on the foil much easier in the typical "on-off" winds we often experience. If you are a very fit 80kg or plan to use it mostly for surf/wake, the 940 is a great option.

Do I need to buy anything else to get on the water?

This package includes the entire foil setup. You will just need a foil-compatible board (with twin tracks) and your wing or paddle. We always recommend using Tefgel (included in some kits or available separately) on the bolts to prevent corrosion.

Specifications

  • Features

Refined Aspect Ratio By slightly reducing the aspect ratio compared to the performance BSC range, AXIS has created a wing that is incredibly stable side-to-side. On the water, this translates to a "locked-in" feeling, giving you the balance needed to find your feet and start basic turns without the foil feeling twitchy.

725mm SES Fuselage The length of the fuselage dictates how reactive the foil is. At 725mm, this "moderate" length provides excellent pitch stability (the front-to-back balance). It prevents the foil from "porpoising" (diving and climbing uncontrollably), which is the most common hurdle for new foilers.

19mm Alloy Mast System The 75cm mast is the "sweet spot" for most riders. It is long enough to provide clearance over chop and allow for progression, but short enough to keep the foil manageable and easy to recover if you lose balance. The 19mm thickness ensures industry-leading stiffness, so the foil goes exactly where you point it.
