Is the Fanatic Fly Air SLT a good first paddleboard?

Yes — that is exactly where it makes the most sense. It is stable, predictable and easy to get on with, without feeling like a dead, floppy budget board. For first-time paddlers who want a board they can actually enjoy and keep using, it is a very solid choice.

Which size is best for most adults?

For most adults, the 10'4" x 33" is the easiest recommendation. It gives you a calm, confidence-building platform without feeling oversized. Go 9'8" if you are lighter and want a more compact board, or 10'8" if you want extra stability or carry a child / extra load.

Can I use it in the sea?

Yes — for sheltered coastal paddling, estuaries and small waves it works well. Like any all-round inflatable, it is happiest in general mixed conditions rather than proper distance touring or performance surf.

Does this package come with a paddle?

No. This package does not include a paddle as standard, so you will need to add one separately. That is not a bad thing, as it lets you choose something that actually suits your height and how often you plan to paddle.

Should I choose this or a touring board?

Choose the Fly Air SLT if you want a forgiving all-round board for learning, family use and relaxed general paddling. Choose a touring board if your priority is covering distance efficiently and tracking straighter on longer flat-water paddles.

Features

SLT construction
SLT stands for Stiff, Light, Tough. In real-world terms, that means the board is easier to carry, packs down smaller in the bag, and still feels properly supportive under your feet when inflated correctly.
All-round outline
This is the classic “do-it-all” paddleboard shape. It gives you a nice balance of stability, glide and manoeuvrability, which is exactly what most first-time and casual paddlers need.
Rounded tail and kick pad
The tail shape helps the board feel loose enough to turn without being twitchy, while the rear kick pad gives you a better reference point if you start playing with step-back turns.
Deck pad and carry comfort
The EVA deck pad is comfortable under bare feet and gives good grip when the board is wet. It is the sort of detail that makes a big difference on longer sessions.
Lashing and shoulder strap system
Fanatic’s combo strap setup makes it easier to secure light kit on the board and more practical to carry the board to the water once inflated.
