O’Brien FAQs
Which towable size should I choose?
Start with how many people you want to ride at once (1–2 vs 3), and be realistic about the boat power and the “vibe” you want (smooth cruising vs higher-action). If you tell us your boat and rider ages/weights, we’ll point you at a sensible option.
Do I need a specific tow rope?
Yes — you want a rope designed for towables (correct length and breaking strain for the rider capacity). It’s a safety and performance thing, not an optional extra.
Can I use a 12V pump for towables and SUPs?
Towables use a low-pressure inflator, while SUPs need a high-pressure pump. If you’re buying for both, make sure you’re choosing the right pump for the job (or ask us and we’ll keep it simple).
Is the O’Brien HiLo inflatable SUP good for beginners?
Yes — it’s a great-value, easy starting point for relaxed paddling and family sessions. If you share your height/weight and where you’ll paddle most, we’ll confirm it’s the right size (or suggest a better fit).
