The RS Pro Railtape - Xtreme is the compact, surf-oriented option in the RS Pro SUP rail protection range. It is designed for SUP surf boards below 8'0", where a longer, wider rail saver can simply feel like too much product for the board.
That makes Xtreme the right choice when you want proper rail protection on a shorter board without excess length hanging into places you do not need it. If you are on a more typical hard SUP, the standard SUP Railtape is the better all-round option. If your board is long and needs more coverage, step up to the Jumbo Railtape. For prone surfboards, the Clear Surf Rail Saver is usually the better fit.

Who should buy the Xtreme version?
This is the right fit for paddlers on shorter SUP surf boards who want rail protection scaled to that style of board rather than to bigger touring or flatwater shapes.
Can I use it on a normal all-round hard SUP?
You can, but it is usually not the best fit. On most standard hard SUPs, the regular SUP Railtape gives more appropriate coverage.
Is this the same thing as surfboard rail saver tape?
Not quite. This product is aimed at short SUP surf boards. If you are protecting a prone surfboard, the RS Pro Clear Surf Rail Saver is usually the better product to start with.
