Description

The Starboard Sprint Airline Deluxe 14'0" 2026 is Starboard’s fastest inflatable race board for flat water paddling. It is built for paddlers who want serious speed, clean tracking and a more hardboard-like feel, but still need the storage, transport and travel benefits of an inflatable SUP.

This is not a general all-round paddleboard. The Sprint Airline is a focused race and fast fitness board for capable paddlers who want to cover distance efficiently, train properly, or race in flatter conditions. If you want the quickest inflatable line from A to B, this is the board to look at. If you want a more forgiving race shape for mixed conditions and choppier venues, the Starboard All Star Airline Deluxe 14'0" 2026 will usually be the safer choice.

Where the Sprint Airline sits in the Starboard range

The Sprint Airline is the flat-water speed option in Starboard’s inflatable race range. Compared with the All Star Airline, it has a narrower, more direct feel and rewards good balance, clean technique and consistent power. The All Star is the more versatile race board for mixed water. The Sprint is the one you choose when flat-water speed and efficiency matter most.

For 2026, Starboard have sharpened the Sprint Airline around two key sizes: 14'0" x 24" for high-skill racers who want maximum speed, and 14'0" x 25.5" for paddlers who still want a fast race board but with a more usable level of stability.

Why choose the Starboard Sprint Airline Deluxe 14'0" 2026?

  • Fast flat-water performance – designed for racing, training and efficient distance paddling where glide and acceleration matter.
  • Airline Technology – a tensioned aramid cable system helps lock the board into shape and improves stiffness under load.
  • New tension adjuster – allows the Airline system to be tightened quickly without needing to deflate the board.
  • Deluxe construction – combines woven dropstitch, fusion lamination, welded rails and carbon stringers for a light, stiff and durable inflatable build.
  • Race-focused standing tray – EVA side trays help with control, balance recovery and rail steering when paddling hard.
  • Inflatable practicality – ideal if you want race-board performance without the storage, roof rack and transport demands of a hard board.

Which size should you choose?

Size Best for Our view
14'0" x 24" Experienced racers and lighter, highly capable paddlers The fastest and narrowest option. Choose this if you have strong balance and want maximum flat-water speed.
14'0" x 25.5" Race, training and fast distance paddling with a little more control The more realistic choice for many paddlers. Still fast, but easier to manage when conditions are not perfectly flat.

If you are unsure between the two, we would usually steer most paddlers towards the 25.5" first unless they are already comfortable on very narrow race boards. The 24" is quick, but only if you can paddle it confidently.

Helpful reading & buying advice

FAQs

Is the Starboard Sprint Airline suitable for beginners?

No. This is a fast, narrow inflatable race board designed for capable paddlers. If you are new to paddleboarding, you will be much better served by a wider all-round or touring board. If you are new to racing, the All Star Airline is usually the more forgiving place to start.

Should I choose the Sprint Airline or the All Star Airline?

Choose the Sprint Airline if your priority is flat-water speed and you already have good balance. Choose the All Star Airline if you want a more versatile race board for mixed water, chop, events and everyday training. Most paddlers stepping into their first inflatable race board will feel more confident on the All Star.

Which size is best: 24" or 25.5"?

The 24" is the faster and more demanding option, best suited to lighter or highly skilled paddlers. The 25.5" gives you more usable stability while still feeling quick and efficient, so it will be the better choice for many real-world paddlers.

Does the Sprint Airline feel like a hard race board?

It will not feel exactly like a composite hardboard, but the Airline cable system, carbon stringers and Deluxe construction give it a much more locked-in, performance-focused feel than a standard inflatable board. It is one of the closest inflatable options if you want race speed with easier storage and transport.

Can I try a Starboard Airline board before buying?

Yes. The best way to choose between widths and models is to test them on the water. Our SUP Test Centre at Woodmill, Southampton allows you to compare boards back-to-back and get proper advice before committing.

Specifications

  • Features

    Airline Technology

Starboard’s Airline system uses a free-flowing aramid cable running from the nose, under the board and back to the fin box. As the board inflates, the cable comes under tension, helping the hull hold its shape more effectively. On the water, that means a stiffer, more responsive feel underfoot and less of the soft flex you can sometimes get with performance inflatables.

    New Quick Tension System

The 2026 Sprint Airline Deluxe introduces a quicker tensioning system, so you can tighten the Airline cable without deflating the board. That is a useful real-world upgrade because the Airline system only works at its best when correctly tensioned.

    Flat-water race shape

The Sprint has a narrow nose, fast outline and efficient waterline. It is designed to cut cleanly through flatter water and reward a strong, consistent paddle stroke. It is quick, direct and efficient, but it does ask more from the paddler than a wider touring or all-round board.

    EVA standing tray

The EVA side tray gives your feet something to push against when paddling hard, stepping back, or recovering balance. It helps make a narrow race board feel more controlled without adding the weight or complexity of a hardboard dugout.

    Race fin setup

The board comes with Starboard’s Race 23" Net Positive fin. The fin box also forms part of the Airline system, helping to anchor the cable at the tail and keep the board feeling tight and efficient.

    Welded rail technology

Starboard’s welded rails create a mechanically bonded seam rather than relying only on traditional glue construction. That is important for long-term reliability, especially on a high-pressure inflatable race board that is designed to be used hard.
