Every application is reviewed by our team. Every approved booking has a defined collection and return window. Every demo includes an in-store handover so you know exactly what you are taking and how it should be used.
This service is not a substitute for lessons, first-time tuition or casual hire. For more advanced equipment, we may only approve demos for customers with suitable previous experience.
How the Try It Now service works

2. We review your application
Our team checks suitability, availability and whether the requested setup makes sense for your level, conditions and intended use. We may recommend a different setup if it is more appropriate.
3. We confirm your demo
If approved, we will contact you with next steps, collection details, return timing and any applicable demo fee, deposit or card security hold requirements.
4. Collect from our Lymington store
We check your photo ID, run through the setup, confirm the return time and hand the equipment over properly so you understand what you are taking away.
5. Ride, compare and decide

Demo fees
Demo fees cover preparation, staff time, handover and use of premium demo stock. Fees are refundable against a qualifying purchase within 30 days.
SUP / paddle demo
£25 demo fee, refundable against a qualifying purchase within 30 days.
Wing / board demo
£40 demo fee, refundable against a qualifying purchase within 30 days.
Foil / premium demo
£60 demo fee, refundable against a qualifying purchase within 30 days.
Foil assist setup demo
£150 demo fee, refundable against a qualifying purchase within 30 days.
For many take-away demos, a deposit or card security hold may also be required depending on the value and type of equipment.

Can beginners use the service?
For selected products, possibly. For more technical categories such as foils, foil assists or advanced wing setups, we usually require existing experience. This service is not intended to replace lessons or first-time coaching.
Do I need to bring ID?
Yes. Valid photo ID is required at collection for all approved demos.
Is there a demo fee?
Yes. Demo fees are £25 for SUP / paddle, £40 for wing / board, £60 for foil / premium demo and £150 for foil assist setup. Fees are refundable against a qualifying purchase within 30 days.
Do you take a deposit?
For many take-away demos, yes. Depending on the value and type of equipment, we may require a deposit or card security hold before release.
Can someone else use the equipment during my demo?
No, not unless they have also been approved by us in advance. The demo is for the named user only unless otherwise agreed by The SUP Company.
What happens after the demo?
Once the equipment is returned, we will help you review what worked, what did not and what setup makes the most sense for your riding, budget and goals.
