If you’re the sort of foiler who’s obsessed with efficiency, glide and “more take-offs per session”, the Skybrid D/LAB is Duotone’s premium answer. It’s a mid-length foil board built around Hollow Shell Composite construction to get the swing weight right down, while still keeping the usable volume you want for light-wind winging, freefly and parawing.
In real terms: it tracks and releases like a longer board, but once you’re up it feels closer to a compact prone-style setup — quick to react, easy to pump, and noticeably less “board in the air” when you change direction or recover a touchdown.
Where it sits in the range
- Choose the Skybrid D/LAB if you want the lightest, stiffest Skybrid feel — premium build, maximum response, minimum swing weight.
- Choose the Skybrid SLS if you want the same mid-length concept with more size/volume options and a lower price point: Duotone Skybrid SLS 2026.

Is the Skybrid D/LAB suitable for beginners?
In most cases, no — not as a first foil board. At 20.5” wide and 70L, it’s aimed at confident intermediates and above who want a lighter, faster-feeling board. If you’re still building your standing stability, look at higher-volume wing boards or the Skybrid SLS in a bigger size: Skybrid SLS 2026.
I’m around 80kg+ — should I still choose this board?
As a guide, Duotone recommend this board for riders under 80kg. Heavier riders can still make it work (especially with good balance and a supportive foil), but if you want easier starts and less fuss in lulls, you’ll usually be happier on a higher volume option in the Skybrid SLS range: Skybrid SLS 2026.
What’s the real difference vs Skybrid SLS?
The SLS gives you the Skybrid concept with more sizes and a friendlier price point. The D/LAB is all about the premium feel: lower swing weight, sharper response, and that “smaller board in the air” sensation — especially noticeable when pumping, carving and switching feet.
What foils will fit the Skybrid D/LAB?
It uses dual US tracks, so it’s designed for plate-mount foils (Duotone/Fanatic Aero, and many other brands). If your mast is Deep Tuttle, you’ll need a plate adapter. If you want help checking compatibility, email us at help@thesupco.com.
Can I use it for parawing and foil assist?
