Description

Slingshot LTF V2 Inflatable Foil Board

The Slingshot LTF V2 is a confidence-building inflatable foil board designed to make the first stages of winging and foiling feel far more manageable. LTF stands for Learn To Fly, and that is exactly where this board sits: it gives new riders a wide, stable platform to learn wing control first, before progressing onto their first foil flights.

What makes the LTF V2 especially useful is its dual-purpose underside. You can start with the supplied twin fins and sUPWINDer keel fin to learn how to stand, steer, hold a wing and stay upwind without a foil underneath you. Once those basics feel comfortable, remove the fins, fit your foil to the track system, and use the same board to begin foiling.

For many new riders, that staged progression makes much more sense than jumping straight onto a small hard foil board. It reduces the intimidation factor, gives you more time on your feet, and helps you build the core skills needed for wing foiling before adding the extra speed and lift of a hydrofoil.

Shop the full Slingshot range or read our Slingshot Wing Foil Buying Guide for help choosing the right board, wing and foil setup.

Who is the Slingshot LTF V2 best suited to?

  • Complete wing beginners who want to learn board handling and wing control before adding a foil.
  • New wing foilers who want a forgiving, stable board for first flights.
  • Heavier riders who need generous volume and width for easier starts.
  • Families, schools and shared setups where durability and easy progression matter.
  • Riders who want one inflatable board for learning, travelling and low-stress sessions.

Who may be better looking elsewhere?

If you already foil confidently and want a compact, responsive hard board for tacks, gybes, wave riding or higher-speed progression, the LTF V2 may feel larger and more forgiving than you need. In that case, look at more performance-focused options within our wing foil board collection, including boards such as the Slingshot Glide Craft and Flow Craft.

Why choose the LTF V2?

  • Learn in stages: Start with fins and wing skills before moving onto the foil.
  • Wide and stable: The generous width helps with balance, starts and touchdowns.
  • Inflatable construction: Easier to store, transport and travel with than a large hard board.
  • Carbon bottom plate: Adds stiffness and gives a more direct connection when foiling.
  • Soft deck pad: Kinder on knees and more forgiving during early-stage learning.
  • Supplied with key learning fins: Includes twin fins and sUPWINDer keel fin for non-foil wing practice.

What else will I need?

The LTF V2 is the board package. To complete a wing foil setup, you will also need a wing, foil, leash and suitable safety equipment. Browse our wingsurfing collection, complete foils, watersports helmets and impact vests.

Please note: foil, wing, board leash, helmet and impact vest are not included unless clearly stated on your selected package. Foil mounting bolts are normally supplied with your mast or foil system rather than the board, but compatibility should always be checked before fitting.

Compatible setup advice

The LTF V2 works best with a forgiving beginner foil that lifts early and remains predictable at lower speeds. For Slingshot customers, the Slingshot One-Lock range is the obvious place to start, with larger Ease or Glide front wing options being the most suitable direction for first flights and early progression.

If you are unsure which wing size, foil size or board size suits your weight and local conditions, visit The SUP Co x Lymington Wing & Foil Demo Centre or contact us for practical advice before ordering.

Buying advice from The SUP Company

The LTF V2 is not trying to be the smallest, fastest or most advanced foil board. Its strength is that it makes the early stages of winging and foiling more achievable. For a first board, that matters. More volume and stability mean more successful starts, more time standing, and more chances to understand how the wing, board and foil work together.

Choose the 180L if you want a stable beginner board that still feels manageable for general adult use. Choose the 210L if you are heavier, less confident, buying for mixed family use, or want the easiest possible platform for first sessions.

FAQs

Can I use the Slingshot LTF V2 without a foil?

Yes. That is one of its main advantages. You can fit the supplied twin fins and sUPWINDer keel fin to learn wing handling before progressing onto the foil.

Is the LTF V2 suitable for complete beginners?

Yes. It is designed specifically for new and progressing riders who want a stable, forgiving board for learning to wing and then foil.

Which size should I choose?

The 180L size suits most adult beginners and progressing riders. The 210L size is better for heavier riders, less confident beginners, schools, families or anyone wanting maximum stability.

Does the LTF V2 include a foil?

No. The package includes the board, travel bag, pump, patch kit, twin fins, sUPWINDer keel fin and fin mounting hardware. A foil is sold separately unless clearly included in a selected package.

Can I use it as a paddleboard?

The LTF V2 has enough volume and stability for casual paddling in sheltered conditions, but it is primarily designed as a wing and foil learning board rather than a dedicated SUP touring or all-round paddleboard.

Is an inflatable foil board stiff enough?

The LTF V2 uses a carbon bottom plate around the foil mounting area to improve stiffness and give a more direct foil feel. It will not feel exactly like a compact hard board, but for learning and early progression it offers a very useful blend of stability, durability and portability.

Can The SUP Company help me build a full setup?

Yes. We can help match the LTF V2 with the right wing, foil, leash and safety equipment based on your weight, ability, local conditions and progression goals. You can also visit The SUP Co x Lymington for specialist wing and foil advice.

Specifications

  • Features

Dual fin and foil progression system: The LTF V2 can be used with the supplied fins to learn wing handling before you fit a foil. This is a big advantage for beginners because it lets you practise standing, steering, turning and holding ground without the extra complication of a foil underneath the board.

Stiff carbon bottom plate: Inflatable foil boards need stiffness through the foil mount area. The carbon bottom plate helps transfer your movement more directly into the foil, giving a more controlled feel once you start flying.

Wide, high-volume shape: The LTF V2 is deliberately wide and stable. That means easier kneeling starts, more relaxed standing, better recovery from wobbles and more time actually learning rather than climbing back onto the board.

Forgiving inflatable platform: An inflatable board is softer than a hard board, which is reassuring when you are falling, climbing back on or learning with family members. It is also easier to store and transport.

3/4 length corduroy deck pad: The grippy deck pad gives useful traction and comfort, especially when kneeling, repositioning your feet or learning to stand with the wing.

sUPWINDer keel fin: The centre keel fin helps the board track and resist being pushed sideways when learning with a wing. It is there to help you understand wind angle, board direction and basic upwind control before moving onto the foil.
