Description

The Red Paddle Co 11'3 Sport - Adventure Series is one of the smartest step-up inflatable paddleboards in the Red range. It is built for paddlers who have enjoyed the reassurance of an all-round board but now want more glide, cleaner tracking and a more efficient feel over distance without stepping onto something narrow or intimidating. If you want a board that feels quicker and more rewarding with every stroke, while still staying stable and confidence-inspiring, this is exactly where a lot of paddlers should be looking.

What makes the 11'3 Sport work so well is that it gives you that noticeable jump in performance without becoming hard work. The longer outline, narrower nose and touring fin help the board travel further per stroke, while the 32" width and lower-profile 4.7" thickness keep it feeling settled and connected underfoot. For UK paddling, where sessions often mix flat water, light chop, estuaries and sheltered coastal routes, it is a brilliant crossover shape.

Where this board sits in the Red Paddle Co range

The 11'3 Sport sits neatly between Red's easy-going Ride boards and their longer, more distance-focused touring shapes. If the Ride is the reassuring all-round starting point, the 11'3 Sport is the board for paddlers who want to cover ground more efficiently and enjoy a more purposeful feel on the water. It is still stable enough for improving paddlers and many confident beginners, but it has a much stronger glide and straight-line bias than a traditional all-round board.

Choose the 11'3 Sport if you want one board that feels faster, more efficient and better suited to longer paddles than a Ride, but you do not want the extra length and more committed feel of a bigger touring board. If your paddling is mostly short family sessions and first-time use, a Ride still makes more sense. If your main goal is bigger mileage, more carrying capacity or longer touring routes, then stepping up again to a 12'6 Sport or Voyager-style board is the right move.

Why choose the Red Paddle Co 11'3 Sport?

  • More glide without losing confidence – a genuine upgrade from an all-round board, but still very approachable.
  • Stable 32" platform – reassuring enough for improving paddlers, bigger riders and mixed conditions.
  • Better tracking and efficiency – ideal for fitness paddling, coastal cruising, rivers and longer recreational sessions.
  • More connected feel on the water – the lower 4.7" profile helps the board feel planted rather than corky.
  • Premium Red Paddle Co finish – durable construction, thoughtful details and a package that is genuinely ready to use.
  • Easy to own – all the practicality of an inflatable, without giving up that more performance-led feel.

Helpful reading & buying advice

Explore the range

Is the 11'3 Sport suitable for beginners?

Yes, for the right beginner. If you are reasonably confident, have decent balance, or already know you want a board with more glide than a classic all-rounder, the 11'3 Sport is a very good place to start. If you are completely new and want the easiest, most forgiving platform possible, the Red Paddle Co 10'8 Ride is the safer first choice.

What is the difference between the 11'3 Sport and the 10'8 Ride?

The Ride is the all-rounder. It is wider, more relaxed and designed to make first sessions easy. The 11'3 Sport is the step-up board. It gives you better glide, straighter tracking and a more efficient feel over distance. If you want to paddle further with less effort, the 11'3 Sport is the one that makes more sense.

Is the 11'3 Sport a good option for heavier paddlers?

Yes. This board is popular with paddlers who want more performance without giving up reassuring width. As a guide, it works very well for individual paddlers up to around 115 kg, with a much higher overall load capacity for carrying extra kit. As rider weight increases, the question becomes less about whether the board floats and more about how lively and efficient you want it to feel. If you are heavier and want even more support for distance paddling, stepping up to a longer touring shape can be a smart move.

Can I use it on the sea as well as flat water?

Yes, in suitable conditions. The 11'3 Sport is a great choice for lakes, rivers, estuaries and sheltered coastal paddling. It has enough stability and control for light chop and mixed water states, which is one reason it is such a strong UK all-round touring board. For open-water touring, rougher conditions or carrying a lot of kit, a Voyager-style board is usually the better specialist tool.

Does the package include a paddle?

No. This package is supplied without a paddle, which gives you the freedom to choose the right option for your height, budget and paddling style. You can view suitable options in our SUP paddles collection.

Specifications

  • Features

11'3" x 32" shape: This is the sweet spot for paddlers who want a board that feels faster than an all-rounder but still forgiving enough for real-world UK conditions. You get better waterline length for glide, without the board feeling cumbersome on and off the water.

4.7" thickness: Thinner boards can feel more settled and direct. On the 11'3 Sport, that lower stance helps improve control, stability and the overall "hard board" feel.

Pointed nose and hard-release Speed Tail: These are the details that help the board move cleaner through the water. In simple terms, the board wastes less energy pushing water around and rewards each paddle stroke with better forward movement.

9" touring fin in a US box: The deeper touring fin helps the board hold a straighter line, so you spend less time switching paddle sides and more time moving forward efficiently.

RSS battens: Red's Rocker Stiffening System adds noticeable rigidity through the standing area. That matters most on performance-oriented shapes like this, where extra stiffness translates directly into better glide, better control and a more locked-in feel.

Six-point cargo bungee: Handy for carrying a dry bag, jacket, water bottle or sandals without cluttering the standing area.

Accessory mount and built-in D-ring: Useful if you want to attach a camera, secure small accessories or tow the board when needed.

Embossed EVA deck pad and soft-grip handles: Small details, but they make a difference. The deck pad is comfortable under bare feet and the handles are much nicer to use when carrying the board around launch sites or slipways.
