Red Equipment EVO Pro Jackets and Trousers: More Time Outside

Early starts by the water. A windy walk back to the car. That extra hour outdoors when the forecast looks uninviting. Autumn brings plenty of reasons to reach for warmer kit.

The Red Equipment Elements collection introduces EVO Pro waterproof insulated jackets and trousers, combining weather protection with fleece warmth. Choose between a half-zip smock and a full-zip jacket, then add matching trousers if you want coverage below the waist.

At The SUP Company, we want to make that choice straightforward. Here is how the pieces compare, where each makes sense and how to use Red’s sizing guides before ordering.

EVO Pro Half-Zip or Full-Zip Jacket?

EVO Pro Half-Zip Jacket: Choose the Smock Style

The Red Equipment EVO Pro Half-Zip Jacket is the overhead option. A long side access zip creates a wider opening when putting it on or taking it off, while the fleece-lined kangaroo pocket gives cold hands somewhere to retreat.

The half-length front zip lets you adjust ventilation without opening the jacket completely.

Choose this if: you like the shape and feel of a smock, with a generous front hand-warmer pocket.

EVO Pro Full-Zip Jacket: Choose Easy Layering

The Red Equipment EVO Pro Full-Zip Jacket opens completely at the front. That makes it straightforward to add or remove a layer, or leave the jacket open as you warm up.

Its full-length YKK zip has an internal wind baffle, and zipped, fleece-lined hand pockets provide warmth and storage for everyday essentials.

Choose this if: you want easy access and the flexibility of opening the front fully during a walk or while preparing kit.

Both jackets have an adjustable peaked hood and hem, ribbed inner cuffs and fold-over sleeve extensions for extra coverage around the hands. The main difference is how you put the jacket on and wear it, rather than its published waterproof rating.

Add the EVO Pro Trousers

The Red Equipment EVO Pro Trousers combine a grid-fleece lining with reinforcement at the knees and seat. Articulated knees support movement, while a partially elasticated waistband and adjustable belt help secure the fit.

Long ankle zips make getting them on and off over footwear easier. Zipped hand pockets and a rear hook-and-loop pocket provide storage, while small openings at the lower hems allow moisture to escape.

Choose these if: a warm jacket leaves your legs feeling exposed during coastal walks, kit preparation or time spent sitting outside after a session.

Weather Protection and Materials

All three garments use fabric rated 15k waterproof and 8k breathable. In plain English, those ratings describe resistance to water penetration and the fabric’s ability to let moisture vapour pass through.

Both the outer fabric and lining are made from 100% recycled polyester. A PFC-free water-repellent finish helps rain bead on the outside. Follow the garment’s care instructions to maintain that finish over time.

Red Equipment EVO Pro Jacket Size Guide

Start with your chest measurement, then check your height. Red publishes the same chest-and-height chart on its EVO Pro Half-Zip and Full-Zip Jacket pages.

Measure around the fullest part of your chest with the tape level and comfortably close to your body. These are body measurements used to select a size, rather than measurements of the jacket itself.

Find your chest range in the first column, then read across to your height. All measurements below are in centimetres.

Chest circumference Height 150–158 cm Height 158–172 cm Height 172–185 cm Height 185–193 cm
84–92 cm XS Short S–M S–M M–L
92–102 cm S–M Short S–M S–M M–L
102–112 cm M–L Short S–M M–L M–L
112–122 cm XL Short M–L M–L XL
122–135 cm XXL Short XL XXL XXL
136–150 cm XXXL XXXL XXXL XXXL

This table reproduces Red’s published size recommendations. “Short” appears only where specified in that chart. The guide describes the manufacturer’s sizing range; it does not confirm that every size and length is available from The SUP Company.

Between sizes or on a boundary? Ask us to check before ordering, particularly if your chest measurement falls between 135 and 136 cm, your height sits at the meeting point of two bands, or your measurements fall outside the chart.

Tell us your chest measurement, height and the layers you expect to wear underneath. That gives us a more useful starting point than your usual jacket size alone.

Red Equipment EVO Pro Trouser Size Guide

Choose your waist size first, then your leg length. Red’s trouser guide gives the same waist ranges for men and women, with additional UK dress-size references in the women’s chart.

Use your measured waist rather than relying only on your usual jeans or dress size. Measure with the tape comfortably around your waist, without pulling it tight.

Trouser Waist Sizes

Trouser size Waist in centimetres Waist in inches Women’s UK size reference
XS 64–71 cm 25–28 inches 6–8
S 69–76 cm 27–30 inches 8–10
M 74–81 cm 29–32 inches 12–14
L 79–86 cm 31–34 inches 14–16
XL 84–94 cm 33–37 inches 18–20
XXL 90–102 cm 35–40 inches 20–22
XXXL 96–108 cm 37–43 inches 22–24

Measurements and dress-size references above are as published in Red’s trouser chart. The waist bands overlap, so some measurements fall into more than one size. If that applies to you, contact us with your measurements and intended layers for help choosing.

Short or Regular Trouser Length?

Length option Inside-leg guidance Height guidance
Short 28–30 inches 150–168 cm
Regular 30–32 inches 170–190 cm

Red advises using your known inside-leg measurement ahead of height. Height is only a guide: two people of the same height can need different trouser lengths.

For example, an 88 cm waist falls within Red’s XL range. A 29-inch inside leg points towards XL Short, while a 31-inch inside leg points towards XL Regular.

The chart leaves a gap between its height bands, so someone around 169 cm should use their inside-leg measurement rather than guess. Check the product page for the sizes and lengths available to order.

Choose Your Colour and Setup

The range is listed in Admiral Blue, Deep Chestnut and Stealth Black. Choose matching pieces or select each garment separately to suit your existing outdoor kit.

  • Prefer a smock? Start with the EVO Pro Half-Zip Jacket.
  • Want easy layering? Choose the EVO Pro Full-Zip Jacket.
  • Spend longer outside in cold conditions? Consider adding the EVO Pro Trousers.
  • Unsure about fit? Have your chest, waist, height and inside-leg measurements ready when asking for advice.

Check each product page for current colour, size and length availability. If you need your order for a particular trip, ask the team to confirm delivery timing before purchasing.

Red Equipment EVO Pro FAQs

Do the EVO Pro Half-Zip and Full-Zip Jackets use the same size guide?

Yes. Red publishes the same chest-and-height chart on both jacket pages. Start with your chest measurement, then read across to your height. Check the product page for the size and length options available to order.

Should I choose my EVO Pro jacket size by height alone?

No. Red advises starting with your chest measurement, then considering your height. Use the two measurements together rather than assuming your usual jacket or changing-robe size will be correct.

How do I choose my EVO Pro trouser size?

Measure your waist and use the waist-size table first. Then choose Short or Regular using your inside-leg measurement. Red gives Short guidance of 28–30 inches and Regular guidance of 30–32 inches.

Are the men’s and women’s trouser waist measurements different?

Red’s supplied EVO Pro trouser chart lists the same waist ranges for men and women. The women’s chart also includes UK dress-size references. Use your waist measurement as the primary guide.

What if I fall between two sizes?

Some of Red’s measurement ranges overlap. Contact The SUP Company with your measurements and details of what you plan to wear underneath. We can help check the appropriate option before you order.

Are EVO Pro jackets and trousers insulated?

Yes. Both jackets use Sherpa fleece through the body and grid fleece in the sleeves. The trousers have a grid-fleece lining.

Do I need to buy the jacket and trousers together?

No. Each garment is sold separately, so you can choose the piece you need most and add matching coverage later. Select the jacket and trousers using their individual sizing guides.
