AXIS Power Carbon FATTY Mast
The AXIS Power Carbon FATTY Mast is the high-load mast option for riders using bigger modern foils and wanting a more solid, locked-in connection between board and foil. It is aimed at pump foilers, heavier riders, downwind riders and light-wind wing foilers who can feel flex in the system and want a mast that keeps larger front wings controlled under pressure.
Where a standard mast can start to feel vague with big-span foils, the FATTY is built to add stiffness, drive and confidence. It is particularly relevant if you are building around larger AXIS wings such as the AXIS Fireball Front Wings, especially the Fireball 1500 and 1750, or if you are pairing it with the AXIS Advance+ FATTY Black Fuselages for the full big-foil platform.
Who Is The AXIS Power Carbon FATTY Mast For?
This mast makes most sense for riders who are already putting meaningful load through their foil. That could be through bigger body weight, bigger front wings, harder pumping, open-water downwinding or riding in stronger, more confused conditions where control really matters.
- Heavier riders around 95kg / 200lb and above who want more support from the mast

Who It May Not Suit
The FATTY Mast is not the default choice for every AXIS rider. If you are learning, riding smaller foils, using more conventional wing setups, or prioritising value over maximum stiffness, the AXIS 19mm Aluminium Foil Mast or AXIS Carbon Power High Modulus Mast may be the more sensible route.
If you are specifically building a Foil Drive-assisted setup, also look at the AXIS Integrated Foil Drive Mast before choosing. It may be the cleaner option for riders wanting a dedicated assist-based AXIS system.

Helpful Setup Advice
If you are upgrading to the FATTY Mast, think about the whole system rather than just the mast. A stiffer mast will expose weaknesses elsewhere, especially if you are using a larger front wing, older fuselage or a board with limited track adjustment. For big AXIS setups, the mast, fuselage and front wing need to work together.

Is the AXIS Power Carbon FATTY Mast only for heavy riders?
No. Heavier riders are one of the key groups who will benefit, but the FATTY Mast also makes sense for lighter riders using very large front wings or pushing hard through pump, downwind or open-water wing sessions.
Should I choose the 80cm or 90cm FATTY Mast?
Choose 80cm if you want a slightly more compact feel for pump, surfier riding, shallower water or easier handling. Choose 90cm if you want more clearance, more open-water control and better support when riding faster or harder in chop and swell.
What front wings does the FATTY Mast suit best?
It is most relevant with larger, higher-load AXIS front wings such as the Fireball 1500 and Fireball 1750. It can also make sense with other big glide-focused or pump-focused AXIS wings where mast flex starts to limit control.
Do I need the AXIS Advance+ FATTY Fuselage as well?

Is this better than the AXIS Carbon Power High Modulus Mast?
Not automatically. The Carbon Power High Modulus Mast is a brilliant upgrade for many riders. The FATTY is more specialist and makes most sense when bigger wings, heavier rider weight or harder pumping loads mean you need extra stiffness and support.
Is the FATTY Mast a good beginner upgrade?
Usually not. Beginners are normally better served by a durable, good-value mast while they build consistency. The FATTY becomes more relevant when you are already loading the foil hard enough to feel flex or instability in the setup.
