Duotone Carve 3.0 SLS 950 Complete Foil Set – 82cm AL Quickmount Mast – Used
This lightly used Duotone Carve 3.0 SLS 950 complete foil setup remains in excellent condition and brings together one of the most versatile sizes in the Carve 3.0 range with Duotone's practical 82cm aluminium Quickmount mast and 66cm 3BS fuselage.
The Carve 3.0 SLS 950 is a particularly useful choice for riders who want to move beyond a larger progression foil without going straight to a very small, demanding front wing. It offers a strong combination of speed, glide, pumping ability and genuinely responsive carving, while the matching PX175 stabiliser keeps the package balanced and predictable.
Supplied as a complete lightly used setup with protective covers, this is a very capable performance package for wing foiling, waves, carving and freestyle.
Condition
- Lightly used / pre-owned
- Excellent overall condition
- May show minor cosmetic signs associated with normal foil use
- Supplied with protective covers
- Complete matched Duotone 3BS foil setup
If you are more concerned with how a foil performs on the water than whether it has ever been assembled, this is an excellent way to get into a premium SLS front wing without the cost of building the entire setup from new components.

- Duotone Carve 3.0 SLS Front Wing – 950cm²
- Duotone PX175 Rear Stabiliser
- Duotone Aero AL 3BS Fuselage – 66cm

Why We Like This Setup
Of the Carve 3.0 sizes, the 950 is arguably one of the easiest to recommend as a genuine all-round performance foil. It is noticeably more lively than the larger freeride and progression-oriented options, but it still provides enough lift and low-speed support to be practical for everyday winging.
The PX175 is also the intended stabiliser pairing for the Carve 3.0 SLS 950, so there is no compromise in the way the front and rear wings work together. The result is a foil that feels balanced underfoot, carries speed well and responds quickly when pushed into a turn.
Combining that wing set with the 66cm fuselage keeps the foil agile, while the 82cm aluminium Quickmount mast makes the package practical enough to use session after session without needing to move into significantly more expensive carbon mast territory.
Carve 3.0 SLS 950 Front Wing
The Duotone Carve 3.0 SLS is aimed at riders looking for considerably more performance than a conventional progression foil. Its focus is on responsive turning, controlled speed, pumping and the ability to carry momentum through waves and manoeuvres.
The 950cm² size sits particularly well in the range. Compared with the smaller 800, it provides more accessible lift and greater low-speed support. Compared with the 1100 and 1300, it feels faster and noticeably more responsive rail-to-rail.
- 950cm² surface area: an excellent balance between lift and performance.
- SLS carbon construction: lightweight and stiff for precise foil response.
- Efficient pumping: useful for maintaining flight through lulls and connecting sections of swell.
- Strong glide: carries speed efficiently without feeling overly locked into a straight line.
- Responsive carving: designed to roll naturally from rail to rail.
- Controlled pitch: gives confidence as speeds increase and through more committed manoeuvres.
PX175 Stabiliser – The Correct Match for the 950
The Duotone PX175 is the recommended stabiliser for the Carve 3.0 SLS 950 and plays an important role in giving this setup its balanced feel.
The PX series has been developed to improve pitch control and pumping efficiency while reducing excessive front-foot pressure. On the water that translates into a foil that feels more neutral underfoot and easier to control as speed builds.
For the Carve 950, the PX175 provides enough rear-wing support for confident transitions and carving without making the foil feel slow or overly stable.
82cm AL 3BS Quickmount Mast
The 82cm Duotone Mast AL 3BS QM (Mono) is an excellent everyday mast choice and one of the most practical parts of this package.
At 82cm it provides enough depth for normal coastal wing foiling, chop and committed carving without creating the additional leverage and handling demands associated with a 90cm mast. For the majority of recreational and performance wing foilers, it is a very useful all-round length.
- 82cm length: a highly versatile size for everyday wing foiling.
- Aerospace-grade aluminium: durable, stiff and significantly more economical than carbon.
- Quickmount system: designed for fast mast attachment and removal.
- Mono Claw connection: provides a secure connection while retaining Quickmount convenience.
- 3BS+ connection: designed around Duotone's current modular foil platform.
- Direct, dependable feel: well suited to the performance characteristics of the Carve 950.
Why Quickmount Matters
Duotone's Quickmount system is particularly useful if you foil regularly. Rather than removing the complete base plate from the board tracks every time you pack away, the base plate can remain positioned on the board while the mast is detached.
That means your preferred mast position can remain set between sessions and considerably reduces the amount of repeated assembly required at the beach.
For riders who transport their board and foil separately, it is one of those features that quickly becomes very difficult to give up.
66cm Aero AL 3BS Fuselage
The Duotone Aero AL 3BS 66cm fuselage is our preferred all-round fuselage length for a setup like this.
Fuselage length has a noticeable effect on the character of a foil. A shorter option can make the foil looser but more demanding in pitch, whereas a longer fuselage creates additional stability at the expense of some manoeuvrability.
The 66cm sits nicely between the two. With the Carve 950 it provides a combination of responsive turning, usable pitch control and good pumping without taking away the character of the front wing.
Who Is This Foil For?
We would recommend this setup to a rider who has already progressed beyond their first flights and now wants a foil that will continue to reward better technique.
It is particularly suitable for:
- Intermediate and advanced wing foilers
- Riders moving down from a larger freeride or progression foil
- Carving swell and small waves
- Powered freeride winging
- Freestyle progression
- Riders wanting improved pump and glide without moving to a dedicated high-aspect foil
- Anyone wanting a performance Duotone setup while retaining the durability and value of an aluminium mast
Who Might Want Something Else?
If you are completely new to foiling, the Carve 950 would not normally be our first recommendation. A larger and more progression-focused front wing will generally provide earlier lift and greater low-speed stability while learning.
Equally, riders whose priority is maximum glide, downwind efficiency or long-distance pumping may be better served by something from the Duotone Glide, Crest or Carve comparison rather than automatically choosing the Carve.
The Carve 3.0 is the choice when turning, drive and a more dynamic connection to the foil sit high on your list.
950 vs 800 Carve 3.0
If you are deciding between the 950 and the smaller Carve 800, the key difference is accessibility.
The 800 is the more aggressive option. It requires more speed to lift but rewards that with very quick turning and excellent higher-wind performance. The 950 retains much of that performance while providing more lift, better low-speed support and a wider usable range.
For many intermediate riders wanting one Carve setup to cover mixed UK conditions, the 950 is the more versatile choice.

A Great-Value Route Into the Carve 3.0
The real appeal of this package is the combination rather than any individual component. You get the lightweight SLS Carve 950 and its correctly matched PX175 stabiliser, but pair them with a durable aluminium mast and sensible 66cm fuselage.
That makes it a high-performance setup without unnecessarily spending money in areas that may make relatively little difference to many riders. The aluminium Quickmount mast is also easier to own and use than many premium carbon alternatives, particularly if the foil is regularly transported, assembled and used around the coast.
Being lightly used and in excellent condition makes the package even more compelling for somebody looking to upgrade their existing foil or move into the current Duotone 3BS system.

FAQs
What condition is this foil setup in?
This is a lightly used setup and remains in excellent overall condition. As with any foil that has been used on the water, there may be minor cosmetic signs of use, but it has seen limited use and has been well looked after.
Are protective covers included?
Yes. Protective covers are included with the setup.
Is the PX175 the correct stabiliser for the Carve 950?
Yes. The PX175 is Duotone's recommended stabiliser pairing for the Carve 3.0 SLS 950, giving the setup a well-balanced combination of pitch control, pumping efficiency and manoeuvrability.
Is the Carve 950 suitable as my first foil?
For most complete beginners we would choose something larger and more progression focused. The Carve 950 is better suited to somebody who already has consistent flights and wants a faster, more manoeuvrable foil with better long-term performance potential.
Is 82cm a good mast length for wing foiling?
Yes. An 82cm mast is one of the most versatile lengths for general wing foiling. It provides good clearance through chop and enough mast height for committed carving without becoming unnecessarily tall or demanding.
What is the advantage of the Quickmount mast?
The Quickmount system allows the base plate to remain positioned in the board tracks while the mast is removed for transport or storage. This makes setting up and packing down substantially quicker and means you do not need to find your preferred mast position again every session.
Can I upgrade to a carbon mast later?
Yes. One of the benefits of buying into Duotone's modular foil platform is the ability to change individual components. A compatible Duotone carbon mast is a logical future upgrade if reducing weight and increasing stiffness becomes a priority, while retaining the Carve wing and other compatible parts.
Can I use different Duotone front wings with this mast and fuselage?
Yes, subject to the connection used by the particular wing. The Duotone 3BS system is designed to give riders considerable flexibility to build different foil combinations around the same mast and fuselage. If you are considering adding another front wing, contact us and we can confirm compatibility before you buy.
