Description
Description
The Duotone Fuselage Aero 3BS AL is the balance point of your foil setup. If you already know the front wing you want to ride, your fuselage length is one of the biggest decisions left to make because it changes how loose, stable, reactive or settled the whole foil feels on the water.
This aluminium 3BS fuselage is built for riders who want a stiff, efficient and dependable connection between mast, front wing and rear stabiliser, without adding unnecessary drag. It sits within Duotone’s modern 3BS foil ecosystem and is available in four lengths, so you can tune your setup properly rather than trying to make one “do everything” option cover every discipline.
In simple terms, shorter fuselages feel looser and more playful. Longer fuselages feel calmer, more pitch-stable and easier to manage. If you are building a wing foil, SUP foil, prone, pump or windsurf foil setup, getting this choice right makes a real difference.
Where It Sits in the Range
The Aero 3BS AL range gives you four clear routes depending on how you ride.
- 60cm – the loosest and most reactive option for advanced wingfoiling, prone and kite foiling.
- 66cm – the all-round sweet spot for many riders; agile enough to stay lively, but with enough glide and control for broad use.
- 74cm – the more stable, confidence-building choice for entry-all-round wingfoiling, SUP foiling, pump and downwind use.
- 90cm – the specialist option for windsurf foiling where extra balance and accessible control matter.
If you are unsure, the 66cm is usually the safest “one fuselage” choice for an all-round foil setup, while the 74cm is the better call if you value stability, glide and a slightly calmer ride feel.
Why Choose the Duotone Fuselage Aero 3BS AL
- Lower-drag aluminium design helps the foil feel cleaner and more efficient through the water.
- Stiffer and stronger feel under load gives better feedback through turns, pumps and touchdowns.
- Length-specific tuning lets you choose between manoeuvrability, glide and pitch stability.
- Hydrodynamic rear recess allows the stabiliser to sit more neatly into the fuselage profile for cleaner water flow.
- Broad 3BS system compatibility makes it a strong choice for riders building a Duotone-based foil setup across multiple disciplines.

Helpful Reading & Buying Advice
Which Duotone Aero 3BS AL fuselage size should I choose?
If you want the simplest answer, choose the 66cm for a broad all-round setup. Go 60cm if you want a looser, more reactive foil for advanced wing, prone or kite use. Choose 74cm if you want more pitch stability, easier control and a calmer feel for wing, SUP, pump or downwind progression. The 90cm is the specialist windsurf option.
What difference does fuselage length actually make?
Fuselage length changes how stable or loose the foil feels. A shorter fuselage turns more quickly and feels more playful. A longer fuselage usually feels more settled, tracks more calmly and gives more pitch stability, which many riders appreciate while learning or riding at speed.
Is the 66cm or 74cm better for wing foiling?
For many wingfoilers, the 66cm is the best all-round choice because it balances agility with control. The 74cm is the better option if you prefer a more planted feel, are still progressing, or want a setup that feels calmer through take-off, pumping and touchdowns.
Is this fuselage compatible with older Duotone or Fanatic foil parts?
It is designed around the current 3BS ecosystem and works with Duotone front wings from SS24 onwards as well as all Fanatic Aero front wings, plus compatible Duotone and Fanatic mast options. If you are mixing older foil generations, it is always worth checking the exact parts before ordering.
Does aluminium need more maintenance than carbon?
Yes, a little. Duotone’s aluminium fuselages reward you with strength and a slim, efficient profile, but they do need sensible care. We recommend dismantling, rinsing with fresh water after use and not leaving parts assembled wet for long periods, especially after saltwater sessions.
Can you help me match this fuselage to a mast, front wing and stabiliser?
Absolutely. This is exactly the kind of foil setup question we help with every day. If you are unsure whether you should go 60, 66, 74 or 90, get in touch with us and we can point you towards the right option based on your weight, ability, board, discipline and local conditions.
