Sticky Bumps Surfboard Base Coat is the wax you put on first when you want a better foundation under your normal topcoat. It is a simple product, but a very useful one. By creating the initial wax build on the board, it helps your session wax sit better, last longer and feel more consistent.
If you are waxing a fresh board, re-doing an old deck, or you simply want your topcoat to build faster and hold up better, basecoat is the right starting point. It is suitable for all temperatures because it is not your final traction layer. Its job is to create the base that your temperature-specific wax can grip to.
Where it sits in the range

Not in the same way as with your topcoat. Basecoat is an all-temperature foundation layer.
