Description

The Infinity The New Deal is the board for surfers who love a classic longboard feel — glide, flow and proper nose-riding — but still want to turn hard when the section stands up. It’s not a “lazy cruiser” shape. Think of it as a performance longboard SUP: smooth and trim when you want it, then lively and responsive when you step back and put it on rail.

Where it sits in the Infinity surf range

If you want longboard lines (cross-stepping, trim, nose rides) but don’t want to feel stuck on a big plank, The New Deal is the sweet spot.

  • Choose The New Deal if you want classic style with modern bite and sharper turning.
  • Go shorter + looser if you want a more skatey, shortboard-style feel (see the BLURR options below).
  • Go shorter + more forgiving if you want easy wave-catching and stability in a compact outline (Escape Pod).

Why riders choose The New Deal

  • Longboard glide with a performance edge – trims fast down the line, then snaps when you step back.
  • Confidence on the nose – designed to lock in and hold when you’re up front.
  • Thinner, grippier rails – better bite and control when the wave has a bit of push.
  • Proper “one-board” longboard surf SUP feel – great for beach breaks and points where you want flow and style.
  • SUPspension Tech build – strong, premium construction aimed at performance surfing.

Key features explained (plain English)

Performance bottom contours
Infinity use a more performance-focused underside (including concave) to help the board accelerate, track cleanly, and feel “connected” when you’re trimming or nose-riding.

Pulled-in tail + “mini wing” release
That pulled-in tail outline is what lets a longboard-style shape feel tighter off the back foot. You get cleaner release and more control when you’re turning at speed.

Thin rail profile
Less “boxy” volume out at the rail means more bite in steeper sections and a more surfboard-like feel when you commit to a turn.

SUPspension Tech construction
A premium layup designed around surf performance — light, crisp and strong, so the board responds quickly under your feet and holds up to real use.

Which size should I choose?

The simplest rule: if you’re buying your first surf SUP (or you surf messy UK beach breaks a lot), go a touch wider for confidence. If you’re already comfortable surfing your SUP, you can go narrower for a more reactive feel.

Size (ft/in) Length (cm / in) Width (cm / in) Volume Best for
8'6" x 29" 259.1cm / 102in 73.7cm / 29in 114L Intermediate surf SUPers wanting a shorter, lively longboard feel
9'0" x 26" 274.3cm / 108in 66.0cm / 26in 93L Lighter, confident surfers who want maximum performance and rail bite
9'0" x 31" 274.3cm / 108in 78.7cm / 31in 125L More stability without giving up the New Deal’s turning feel
9'6" x 31" 289.6cm / 114in 78.7cm / 31in 141L Classic longboard glide + confidence (great “do-it-all” longboard choice)
10'0" x 27" 304.8cm / 120in 68.6cm / 27in 122L More glide and paddle speed with a performance outline
10'0" x 29" 304.8cm / 120in 73.7cm / 29in 139L Bigger riders or anyone wanting longboard trim with extra stability
10'0" x 31" 304.8cm / 120in 78.7cm / 31in 152L Maximum stability in the range (confidence-first longboard SUP surfing)

Helpful reading & buying advice

If you want a quick steer on sizing (or which board in the Infinity range makes most sense for your local break), give us a shout via our Contact page or come and see us at Woodmill or Lymington. If you’re local, you can also book the SUP Test Centre at Woodmill to sanity-check volume/stability before you commit to a surf shape.

FAQs

Is The New Deal a good first surf SUP?

It can be, as long as you size it for stability (usually a bit wider) and you’ve already got basic paddle balance. If you’re brand new to SUP surfing, we’ll normally steer you towards a more forgiving shape first, then use The New Deal as your “proper surf” step-up once you’re catching waves consistently.

Should I go wider or longer?

For most UK surfers, width is the confidence-maker. If you’re between two options, going slightly wider usually helps you catch more waves and stay relaxed in chop — which improves your surfing faster than chasing a narrower board too early.

Will it work on flatwater too?

You can cruise it, but it’s shaped for surfing. If you’re mainly paddling rivers/harbours and only surfing occasionally, you’ll be happier on a dedicated all-round or touring board. The New Deal shines when it’s pointed at a wave.

What paddle should I pair with it?

A surf-specific blade helps you accelerate into waves and brace quickly when it gets messy. If you want to stay in the Infinity ecosystem, the Infinity Quick Strike SURF Slim Paddle is a great match. If you want a premium surf weapon, look at the Black Project Surge Surf Paddle.
