Description
Description
The Code Foils Downwind SUP is built for standing paddle-ups, accelerating onto foil and linking bumps in open water. Six shapes span 90 to 120 litres, including different lengths and widths at the same volume. That choice matters: the board you can balance on and paddle consistently is usually more useful than the narrowest shape on paper.
Why choose the Code Downwind SUP?
- Six distinct shapes — Select length and width alongside volume rather than relying on litres alone.
- Reinforced standing area — Additional PVC reinforcement is specified where repeated paddle-up loads are applied.
- Foil-focused carbon build — Carbon construction and reinforced tracks aim to keep the foil connection responsive.
Who is it for?
Designed for downwind SUP foilers with the paddling technique and balance needed for narrow, specialist boards. If you are new to standing paddle-ups, do not assume a 100 L shape is stable merely because its volume looks generous; the 16.5–20-inch widths across this range are significant.
Features that matter
Long, narrow outlines
Length can help maintain forward motion while paddling, whereas a narrow stance area demands better balance. These are design trade-offs, not guarantees of earlier take-off.
Standing-zone reinforcement
Code specifies extra PVC reinforcement where your feet and paddle-up effort load the deck.
Full-carbon shell and reinforced tracks
A stiff board-to-foil connection helps transmit inputs. It also makes correct mast fitting and board care important.

Compatibility and setup
Code describes Foil Drive compatibility, but exact mast, drive and mounting compatibility must be checked for your system. A downwind SUP board is not a substitute for a dedicated dock-start board.
Choosing the right size
The two 100 L choices are not interchangeable: 8’0” × 17” is shorter and wider than 8’5” × 16.5”. The 110 L options likewise differ at 8’0” × 19” and 8’5” × 18”. Consider your ability to stand comfortably in chop, paddle straight and accelerate before favouring the narrowest option. The 120 L has the greatest published volume and width in this group.
Frequently asked questions
Why are there two 100 L sizes?
They use different outlines: one is 8’0” × 17” and the other 8’5” × 16.5”. Length and width affect how the board paddles and balances.
Is a narrower board always faster to take off?
No. Any potential efficiency advantage is of little value if you cannot balance and apply consistent paddle strokes.
Can I use it for foil assist?
Code indicates Foil Drive compatibility, subject to checking the exact hardware configuration.
