Description
Description
The Code Foils Prone boards are designed for paddle-in surf foiling, with conventional compact shapes and longer mid-length alternatives. The important choice is how much help you want when paddling into a wave versus how little board you want beneath your feet once flying. Volume alone cannot explain that difference.
Why choose the Code Prone?
- Prone-specific shapes — Designed for paddle-in surf-foil starts rather than standing downwind SUP take-offs.
- Compact and mid-length options — Choose a smaller board feel or additional length for paddle-in assistance.
- Wave-focused buying choice — Match board outline to your paddling ability, local surf and foil setup.
Who is it for?
For surf foilers who paddle into waves and then ride on foil. If you mostly dock-start, Kanga is the specialist alternative; if you rely on an integrated motor-assist battery arrangement, FAST deserves consideration. A mid-length prone shape is not the same as a standing downwind SUP.
Features that matter
Compact prone outline
A shorter board reduces the amount of board underfoot once on foil, but typically offers less length for paddling into a wave.
Mid-length prone alternative
Additional length can help a rider build paddle speed and approach a wave differently; it also means more board to manage once flying.
Carbon construction and reinforced foil tracks
Full-carbon construction, a high-density PVC wrap and heavily reinforced tracks give the board a stiff connection to the mast. That helps your foot pressure translate into foil control; it does not replace correct hardware fitting or careful handling.

Compatibility and setup
Code lists the Prone range as Foil Drive compatible. Check your particular mast, assist system and mounting hardware before ordering; this is not a blanket confirmation for every drive generation or battery configuration.
Choosing the right size
For a compact platform, compare the four Prone shapes from 4′3″ to 5′2″. The three Mid-Length shapes run from 5′0″ to 5′6″ and favour additional length for paddle-ins. Do not select the 29 L or 40 L options by volume alone: each is available in two different outlines. The 29 L Mid-Length is also wider than the 29 L Prone, so the actual dimensions are more useful than a general claim that mid-length boards are narrower.
Tell us your current board, rider weight, foil and typical waves if you need help choosing. We would prioritise reliable paddle-ins over the smallest board you can manage once flying.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between prone and mid-length prone?
The mid-length offers more board length for paddle-in starts; the compact shape prioritises a smaller platform while riding.
Is this the same as the Downwind SUP?
No. These boards are intended for prone paddle-in surf foiling, not standing paddle-ups in open water.
Can I choose by volume alone?
No. Length, width, paddling technique, wave type and foil setup also matter.
