Description

The Code Foils S Series Front Wing is the all-round front wing in the Code Foils range, designed for riders who want smooth lift, strong glide and a foil that can work across more than one discipline. If you wingfoil, surf foil, SUP foil, pump, dock start or are starting to explore downwind foiling, the S Series is the Code wing most riders should look at first.

What makes the S Series so useful is its balance. It is not a specialist race wing, and it is not an ultra-critical wave-only foil. Instead, it gives you early, predictable lift, efficient glide and a controlled turning feel, which makes it a very strong choice for UK riders who want one foil range that can cover changing wind, tide and wave conditions.

If you are unsure which size to choose, speak to The SUP Company team before ordering. Front wing size should be matched to your weight, discipline, board, mast, tail wing and local conditions.

Where the S Series sits in the Code Foils range

The S Series is the versatile, do-it-all option in the Code Foils front wing line-up.

  • Choose the S Series if you want the best blend of lift, glide, control and all-round usability across wing, surf, SUP, pump and downwind progression.
  • Look towards the R Series if your priority is more downwind glide, efficiency and distance-focused performance.
  • Look towards the X Series if you want a more surf-focused, high-performance wing for tighter turns and more critical wave riding.

For most riders building a Code Foils setup, the S Series is the safest starting point. It gives enough efficiency to feel exciting, but enough low-speed control to keep progression realistic.

Why choose the Code Foils S Series?

  • One wing range, multiple disciplines: works across wingfoiling, prone, SUP foiling, pump foiling, dock starting and downwind progression.
  • Early, smooth lift: helps you get flying without needing excessive speed or perfect technique.
  • Efficient glide and pump: useful for linking waves, connecting bumps and keeping the foil moving between sections.
  • Controlled carving feel: turns smoothly without feeling twitchy or hard to manage.
  • Wide size range: from compact high-performance sizes through to larger, beginner-friendly and heavier-rider options.
  • Strong progression path: start on a bigger S Series wing, then size down as your control, speed and confidence improve.

Which size should I choose?

As a general guide, the smaller S Series wings suit faster, more experienced riders who want looseness and sharper turning. The mid sizes are the strongest choice for riders wanting one wing to do a bit of everything. The larger sizes are better for early lift, heavier riders, lighter wind, dock starts, pumping and downwind progression.

If you are building your first Code setup, the 980S, 1130S or 1300S are often the most sensible starting points depending on your weight and discipline. The 1540S and 1725S make sense for riders prioritising maximum lift, pump, dock start or beginner downwind progression.

Compatibility

The Code Foils S Series Front Wing is designed to be used within the Code Foils modular system. You will need a compatible Code Foils fuselage, mast and rear stabiliser to complete the setup.

If you are unsure whether this front wing will work with your existing foil parts, please contact us before ordering. Foil components are not universally interchangeable, and checking compatibility first can save an expensive mistake.

Package includes

  • Code Foils S Series Front Wing
  • Code Foils front wing cover

Please note: this is the front wing only. Mast, fuselage, rear stabiliser, board, screws and other foil components are sold separately unless clearly stated as part of a package.

Helpful reading and buying advice

FAQs

Is the Code Foils S Series suitable for beginners?

Yes, but size choice matters. Larger sizes such as the 1300S, 1540S and 1725S are the most beginner-friendly options because they lift earlier and stall more gently. Smaller sizes are better suited to confident, faster riders.

Can I use the S Series for wingfoiling?

Yes. The S Series works very well for wingfoiling because it offers early lift, good glide and predictable handling. The right size depends on your weight, board size, wind strength and whether you want freeride, wave or light-wind performance.

Can I use the S Series for prone or SUP surf foiling?

Yes. The smaller and mid-size S Series wings are particularly useful for surf foiling because they offer a smooth carving feel and good control when linking waves. Heavier riders or SUP foilers may prefer the larger sizes for extra lift and stability.

Which S Series size is the best all-rounder?

For many riders, the 850S, 980S and 1130S sit in the all-round sweet spot. The 850S is more performance focused, the 980S gives more lift and range, and the 1130S is a strong choice for heavier riders or those wanting easier low-speed support.

Is this a complete foil setup?

No. This product is the front wing only. You will also need a compatible Code Foils mast, fuselage, rear stabiliser and suitable mounting hardware to complete your foil setup.

Can I mix Code Foils wings with other brands?

Foil systems are usually brand-specific. The S Series is designed to work within the Code Foils system, so we recommend checking with us before trying to mix it with non-Code parts.

Can I demo Code Foils before buying?

Where demo stock is available, we can help customers compare suitable foil options through The SUP Co x Lymington Try It Now service. Contact us with your weight, ability, board and current setup, and we will help you narrow down the right option.

Specifications

  • Features

    Mid-to-high aspect design

The S Series uses an aspect ratio of 9.5 across the range, giving a strong balance of glide, lift and turning. In simple terms, it carries speed well without becoming too technical for everyday foiling.

    High-lift foil section

The foil section is designed to give smooth, predictable take-offs. This is especially useful in gusty wing sessions, small surf, choppy UK water and situations where you need the foil to lift cleanly rather than suddenly.

    Usable size progression

Smaller sizes such as the 500S, 615S and 720S suit more advanced riders looking for speed, looseness and surf performance. Mid sizes such as the 850S and 980S are strong all-round choices. Larger sizes such as the 1130S, 1300S, 1540S and 1725S give more lift, lower stall speed and greater accessibility for heavier riders, learners and pump/downwind-focused use.

    Tip breach control

The S Series wing tips are designed to stay manageable when pushed through turns or when a tip breaches near the surface. That helps the foil stay composed in white water, messy wave sections and aggressive carving.

    High Modulus options

The larger 1130S, 1300S and 1725S models are High Modulus constructions, giving a stiffer and more direct feel under load. This is particularly useful for heavier riders, larger wings and riders who want more efficient pumping and response.
