Description

The Code Foils X Series Front Wing is built for riders who want a more surf-led feel from their foil. It is fast, reactive and precise, but the real purpose of this wing is flow: tighter turns, smoother rail-to-rail transitions and more confidence when you are riding steeper waves, linking bumps or pushing harder in critical sections.

Where some front wings are built primarily for glide or early lift, the X Series is aimed at riders who want to turn with more commitment. It suits wingfoiling, prone foiling, SUP foil surfing, downwind, parawing, kite foiling, Foil Drive and other foil assist setups where control, roll response and surf-style handling matter.

Where the X Series sits in the Code Foils range

The X Series is the more wave-focused performance option in the Code Foils front wing line-up. If you want maximum all-round lift and smooth progression, the S Series is the calmer starting point. If your focus is downwind glide, speed and efficiency, the R Series is the more obvious choice. Choose the X Series when you want a foil that feels looser, more responsive and more connected through turns.

For UK riders, that makes it a particularly interesting option for South Coast surf sessions, powered wing days, Foil Drive surf use, prone foiling and experienced riders who want to step away from a purely efficient foil and towards something that feels more like surfing.

Compatibility and setup advice

The X Series is designed to work within the Code Foils modular system, so you will need a compatible Code mast, fuselage and rear stabiliser to build a complete foil. Rear stabiliser choice will make a noticeable difference to pitch stability, turning speed and pump feel, so it is worth getting the pairing right rather than simply choosing the smallest or fastest tail.

FAQs

Is the Code X Series suitable for beginners?

For most true beginners, no. The X Series is aimed more at progressing and experienced riders who already foil consistently and want more turn response, surf control and performance. If you are still working on your first flights, a more all-round and forgiving foil will usually be the better route.

Which X Series size should I choose?

Choose the smaller sizes if you are lighter, riding with more power, using Foil Drive in surf, towing, or chasing higher speed and tighter turns. Choose the larger sizes if you want more support, more drive, easier lift or a more versatile setup for mixed wing, wave and downwind use. If you are unsure, contact us with your weight, board, mast, tail and usual riding conditions and we can help narrow it down.

How does the X Series compare with the Code S Series?

The S Series is the more all-round option, with early lift, smooth handling and broad use across disciplines. The X Series is more surf-focused and more performance-led, with a looser, more responsive feel for riders who want to push harder through turns.

How does the X Series compare with the Code R Series?

The R Series is aimed more towards downwind efficiency, glide and speed. The X Series is the choice when you are less focused on maximum glide and more focused on carving, wave riding and a surf-style feel.

Can I use the X Series with Foil Drive?

Yes, the X Series can work well for Foil Drive and other foil assist use, especially where surf control and fast turning matter. The exact setup depends on your mast, adapter, fuselage, tail and motor position, so speak to us if you are building a complete Foil Drive setup and want to get the pairing right.

Is this a complete foil setup?

No. This product is the front wing only. You will also need a compatible mast, fuselage and rear stabiliser to complete the foil, along with any board hardware or foil assist components required for your setup.
