- Front wing: most riders love a higher efficiency wing for easier pump and glide — start with something like the Duotone Glide 2.0 SLS or go full-send with the Glide 2.0 D/LAB.
- Expectations: this is “foil assist”, not a full eFoil. You still foil, pump and ride — the motor just fills the gaps and boosts your success rate.

Is this a full eFoil?
No — it’s a foil assist system. You still ride and control the foil like normal; the motor simply helps you get up and stay flying when conditions (or your board choice) would normally make it a battle.
What’s the difference between D/LAB and AL?
D/LAB is the premium carbon option: stiffer and more responsive under load, with the cleanest feel once flying. AL is the value hero: brilliant performance and the same battery/remote concept, just with an aluminium mast.
Will it work with my current foil (Axis, Armstrong, F-One, etc.)?
In many cases, yes — but you’ll need the correct brand-specific adapter fuselage (sold separately). If you’re on Duotone foils, use the Duotone adapter fuselage. If you’re on another brand, drop us a message and we’ll point you at the right adapter.
How long do the batteries last?
Most riders see roughly 35–60 minutes of assisted runtime depending on rider weight, foil/board choice, conditions and how hard you lean on the motor. Think of it as “loads of boosts per session”, not a constant throttle like a full eFoil.
Do I need the Midfish board?
No — but boards like the Duotone MIDFISH 2026 are designed to make Foil Assist starts and releases easier, especially for downwind and parawing-style take-offs. If you already have a board you love, we’ll help you make the assist work brilliantly with it.
Is it suitable for beginners?
We’d treat it as a progression tool. If you’re completely new to foiling, the more confidence/safety-focused route is usually the Foil Cruise Set AL (prop guard) or a complete matched package. If you already foil and you want more reps and easier take-offs, this is exactly what Foil Assist is made for.
