Compatibility & what you’ll need

  • You will need a foil and board: this is the assist system only (not a complete board + foil package).
  • Board mounting: works with boards that have standard twin US foil tracks.
  • Fuselage adapter required: you’ll need the correct adapter to marry the Foil Assist mast to your foil brand (sold separately).

FAQs

Is this a full eFoil?

No — it’s an assist system for foiling. You still ride it like a foil (wing, prone, SUP, downwind, parawing). The power is there to help you take off, connect, and get home — not to replace the feel of foiling with a dedicated eFoil board.

What’s the difference between Foil Assist AL and D/LAB?

AL is the robust, value-led aluminium mast option. D/LAB is the premium carbon option aimed at riders who want the lightest swing weight and stiffest feel. If you’re unsure, AL is the safe place to start for most riders.

Do I need a special board?

You’ll need a foil board with standard US twin tracks. Beyond that, it’s about matching volume and shape to your discipline. If you want a board designed around Foil Assist take-offs, have a look at the Duotone Midfish 2026 or the Complete AL package.

Which harness size should I choose?

S–M: 28–35" waist (71–89cm)
L–XXL: 35–45" waist (89–114cm)
If you’re between sizes and plan to wear it over a thick winter wetsuit, sizing up is usually more comfortable.

How long does it run for?

Think 35–60 minutes of assisted use, depending on rider weight, board/foil efficiency, and how hard you lean on the power. Most riders use it in short bursts — take-off help, connection help, then back to glide.

Can I fly with the batteries?

The battery format is designed around common airline capacity limits, but airlines vary and rules can change. Always check your airline’s current lithium battery policy before you travel.

What do I need to make it compatible with my foil?

You’ll need the correct Adapter Fuselage for your foil brand (sold separately). If you tell us your foil model (or send a photo of the fuselage connection), we’ll point you to the right adapter.

    Integrated 84cm Aluminium eMast

    The motor is housed within the mast profile itself rather than in a separate pod. On the water, this means significantly less drag and a much cleaner look. The 84cm height is the "sweet spot" for most riders, providing enough clearance for carving through chop without feeling disconnected from the foil's lift.

    eHarness Waist Battery System

    By carrying the battery weight on your body using the Duotone eHarness Waist Belt, your board remains a "pure" foilboard. The harness is buoyant and non-water-absorbing, so it doesn't get heavy during a session. It connects to the mast via a slim, magnetic quick-release cable that ensures you are never "locked in" to the board.

    eRemote Watch Ring

    Control is handled by the Duotone eRemote Watch Ring Set. This waterproof smartwatch-style unit paired with a finger-mounted trigger allows you to paddle, duck dive, and handle a wing normally while still having instant access to seven levels of boost.
