The 2026 Rebel D/LAB has been refined around more vertical big-air performance. A shortened chord and updated arc reduce unwanted lateral pull through take-off, allowing the kite to convert more of its power into height.

Duotone has also removed the pulleys from the front bridle. In practical terms, this makes steering feel sharper and more connected, particularly when edging hard before take-off or redirecting the kite during technical jumps.

The revised geometry also helps the kite climb back through the window after a loop. That does not turn the Rebel into the same style of looping kite as an Evo D/LAB; its personality remains very much about height, float, control and big-air progression. It does, however, make the 2026 Rebel noticeably more relevant to modern big-air riding.

D/LAB Aluula Construction

The Rebel D/LAB uses Aluula D/TX throughout the leading edge and struts. The benefit of Aluula is the combination of extremely low weight and very high stiffness.

On the water, stiffness is every bit as important as weight. A frame that deforms less under load allows the kite to hold its intended aerodynamic shape when heavily powered. Steering inputs feel immediate, jump timing becomes very precise and the kite stays composed when conditions turn rough.

The canopy uses Duotone's Trinity TX material, while details including Micro Batten Construction and Micro Loop Connections reduce unnecessary weight throughout the kite.

Rebel D/LAB vs Rebel SLS

The Rebel SLS is already an exceptionally capable kite and will make more financial sense for many riders. The D/LAB earns its place when you specifically want the lower weight, additional frame stiffness and exceptionally crisp response that Aluula delivers.

Rebel D/LAB or Evo D/LAB?

This is an important distinction. Both sit at the top of Duotone's kite range, but they have different personalities.

Choose the Rebel D/LAB if your priority is boosting, height, hangtime, board-offs and a very stable platform when heavily powered. Choose the Evo D/LAB if you want a more versatile performance kite with a stronger emphasis on aggressive loops and all-round big-air riding.

If your perfect session involves loading the edge, sending the kite and spending as long as possible in the air, the Rebel is the natural choice.

Who Should Buy This Kite?

This used Rebel D/LAB 8m makes most sense for an intermediate, advanced or expert rider who is already comfortable riding powered and wants a premium kite specifically capable of pushing jumping performance further.

It is less compelling as a first kite. A progressing rider focused primarily on waterstarts, basic transitions and general freeriding does not need to pay for D/LAB construction to make good progress. The Rebel D/LAB becomes worthwhile when you can actually exploit its stiffness, feedback, wind range and aerial performance.
