Description
Description
Duotone Sky Style Foil Board 2025
The Duotone Sky Style Foil Board 2025 is a compact, progression-led wing foil board for riders who want to move beyond straight-line cruising and start pushing into carving, waves, jumps and freestyle. It gives you the shorter, more reactive feel that makes wing foiling exciting, but with enough width, nose stability and volume distribution to keep starts, touchdowns and landings more manageable.
This is the board to choose if you already have the basics of wing foiling underway and want something that feels lively underfoot without jumping straight into an ultra-small specialist board. Compared with a longer beginner board, the Sky Style is easier to throw around, easier to pump, and better suited to turns, wave riding and strap-based progression.
Who is the Duotone Sky Style 2025 best for?
- Progressing wing foilers who can already get up and ride consistently
- Riders moving down from a larger beginner wing foil board
- Freeride riders who want a smaller, more responsive board
- Wing foilers starting to explore jumps, 360s, tacks, gybes and wave riding
- Heavier or ambitious riders who still want practical volume in a compact shape
Who might need something different?
If you are buying your very first wing foil board and want the easiest possible take-off platform, the Sky Style may be a little too compact unless you are light, confident and already board-sport capable. In that case, look at the wing foil boards collection or speak to us before choosing your volume.
If your priority is earlier lift, more glide and easier starts in lighter wind, a mid-length board such as the Duotone Skybrid Bamboo 2025 may suit you better. If you want the lighter, sharper and more premium version of this style of board, consider the Duotone Sky Style SLS 2025.
Why choose the Sky Style?
- Compact freeride shape: shorter underfoot for a more agile, playful feel once you are on foil.
- Stable nose and tail: designed to make starts, touchdowns and landings less punishing than older compact board shapes.
- Thinner recessed deck: brings your feet closer to the foil for a more direct connection and better control.
- Double concave to flat bottom: helps the board release cleanly from the water and get onto foil efficiently.
- Bevelled rails: reduce catching during turns, wave riding and touch-down recoveries.
- Multiple footstrap options: set the board up for freeride, jumping, wave riding or strapless progression.
- Durable vacuum epoxy construction: a strong, sensible build for regular wing foil use without the premium price of SLS carbon construction.

Which size should I choose?
Choose the 4'11" 75L if you are already riding confidently, want a compact board and are happy trading some start-up stability for a more responsive feel.
Choose the 5'1" 85L if you want the safest all-round choice in this range. It gives a good balance of stability, volume and manoeuvrability for progressing riders.
Choose the 5'3" 95L if you are heavier, riding in lighter or gustier UK wind, or want more forgiveness while still getting the benefit of the Sky Style’s compact performance shape.
Key features in plain English
- Better for turns: the shorter length makes the board easier to redirect under your feet when carving or riding swell.
- More stable than it looks: the wider nose and tail help with starts, knee starts and less-than-perfect landings.
- More direct foil feel: the thinner recessed deck reduces the distance between your feet and the foil, improving feedback and control.
- Good touchdown recovery: the bottom shape and bevelled rails help the board release rather than trip when it touches down.
- Built for straps or strapless: use straps for jumping and freestyle, or ride strapless for freeride and wave-style sessions.

Recommended setup
The Sky Style works well with a freeride or wave-focused Duotone setup. For most progressing riders, pair it with a stable front wing that gives dependable lift before moving too small or too fast. The right board volume is only part of the equation; foil size, wing size, rider weight and local wind conditions all need to work together.

Sky Style vs Skybrid: which is right?
Choose the Sky Style if you want a more compact, classic wing foil board for freeride, carving, wave riding and freestyle. It is the more playful option once you are up and foiling.
Choose the Skybrid if you want more glide, easier starts and better efficiency in lighter wind. The Skybrid is often the smarter choice for riders who want more take-offs per session, while the Sky Style is better for riders who want more manoeuvrability and a sportier feel.

FAQs
Is the Duotone Sky Style 2025 suitable for beginners?
It depends on the rider. It can work for lighter, confident beginners with good balance or previous board-sport experience, but most true beginners will progress more easily on a larger and more stable board. The Sky Style is best for improvers and progressing riders.
What is the main difference between the Sky Style and Sky Style SLS?
The Sky Style is the more accessible and durable standard construction option. The Sky Style SLS uses a lighter, stiffer premium construction for riders who want a sharper, more responsive feel and are happy to pay for the performance upgrade.
Should I choose 75L, 85L or 95L?
As a simple guide, choose 75L if you are lighter or already confident, 85L for the best all-round balance, and 95L if you are heavier, progressing, or regularly riding in lighter or gustier UK wind.
Does the board include footstraps?
No. The board has multiple footstrap insert options and is compatible with Duotone footstraps, but footstraps are not included unless clearly supplied separately.
Can I use this board for wave riding?
Yes. The compact outline, bevelled rails and responsive deck feel make it well suited to wave-style wing foiling, especially for riders who want a board that turns easily and recovers well from touchdowns.
Is the Sky Style better than a mid-length board?
Not automatically. The Sky Style is better for compact handling, turns, jumps and freestyle. A mid-length board is usually better for early take-offs, glide and lighter wind efficiency. The best choice depends on your riding goals.
Will my foil fit the Sky Style?
The Sky Style uses 2 x US foil tracks, which is the common mounting system used by most modern foil setups. Always check your mast plate and track compatibility before ordering.
Can The SUP Company help me choose a complete setup?
Yes. Send us your weight, ability level, current kit and where you normally ride, and we can help match the board size, foil, wing and accessories properly.
