Description

The Duotone Strider SLS Wake 2026 is a purpose-built wake / tow / pump foil board — compact, stiff and designed to make starts easier while keeping swing weight low for carving, pumping and progression. If you’re riding behind a boat, learning dock starts, or building pump fitness on flat water, this is the kind of board that makes sessions feel simpler, cleaner and more repeatable.

It’s short enough to feel lively under your feet, but shaped to be forgiving when you’re learning — exactly what you want when you’re pushing new skills.

Where it sits in the range

Think of the Strider family like this:

  • Strider SLS (Pump) – the smallest/most minimal option for pure dock-start pumping and efficiency.
  • Strider SLS Wake – a touch more length and volume for tow starts, wake foiling and pump training, with extra forgiveness when you’re learning or mixing disciplines.

If you mostly ride behind a boat (or want the easiest path into dock starts), the Wake version is typically the better shout. If you’re already dialled on dock starts and want the most “skatey” pump-focused feel, look at the standard Strider SLS.

Why choose the Strider SLS Wake?

  • Easier starts, less frustration – the extra length/volume helps get you stable and up to speed quickly.
  • Proper SLS feel – stiff, direct power transfer for pumping and carving without that “spongy” sensation.
  • Low swing weight – compact outline keeps it agile under your feet and quick through turns.
  • Touchdown recovery built-in – added nose kick helps you save mistakes and keep flying.
  • One board, multiple uses – wake/tow, dock start practice, flat-water pump fitness, and even kite-foil training.

If you want help choosing the right foil/board pairing (or you’d like to feel the difference between sizes), we can talk you through it properly. We also offer demos where possible via The SUP Company Test / Demo Centre: more info here.

If you’re heading towards performance foiling, ask us about options at our Lymington base as well as Southampton — tell us your weight, experience level, and what sort of riding you want to do and we’ll recommend a sensible setup.

FAQs

Is the Strider SLS Wake only for wake foiling?

No — it’s designed for wake/tow, but it also works brilliantly for dock-start practice and pump training on flat water. It’s a genuinely multi-discipline “short board” platform.

What’s the difference between the Strider SLS Wake and the standard Strider SLS?

The Wake version is larger (more length/volume), which generally means easier starts, a touch more stability, and more forgiveness when you’re learning. The standard Strider SLS is smaller and more “pure pump” focused once you’re already confident.

Will my foil fit this board?

If your foil uses a twin-track (US track) mounting system, you’re good. If you’re unsure, tell us the foil brand/model and we’ll help confirm compatibility.

What foil should I pair with it?

For wake/tow and early dock-start progression, most riders prefer a foil with easy low-speed lift and predictable pitch. Tell us your weight and whether you’ll be mainly towing, pumping, or mixing both, and we’ll recommend a sensible front wing + stabiliser pairing.

Is this board suitable for beginners?

It can be — especially for towing behind a boat where the start is controlled. For absolute first-timers on foil (no tow access), a larger, higher-volume board is often the quickest learning route. If you tell us your background and where you’ll be riding, we’ll point you in the right direction.

Specifications

  • Features

    Compact outline
Short boards feel “lighter” in manoeuvres — less board to swing around means quicker transitions, easier spins, and a more playful feel when you’re carving the wake.

    SLS carbon construction
This is about stiffness and durability. A stiff board transfers every pump and weight shift into lift and speed — and holds up better to the knocks that come with docks, boats and learning sessions.

    Foil-track mounting
Designed around adjustable foil tracks, so you can fine-tune mast position for stability, lift and speed as you progress.

    Dialled rocker & touchdown behaviour
These boards are shaped to minimise drag when you touch down and to recover quickly — a big deal when you’re learning starts or pumping for distance.
