Description
The ION Wing Gearbag TEC is a substantial wheeled travel bag for carrying a complete wing foil setup in one organised package. Depending on the size selected, it can accommodate one or two wing boards, a dismantled foil and up to three wings, with room for smaller essentials such as a pump, leashes and protective covers.
This is the bag to choose for flights, longer road trips and riders who regularly transport a valuable wing foil quiver. A moulded base plate, 10 mm padding and durable recycled outer fabric provide considerably more protection and structure than a simple everyday board bag.
Who is it for?
Best suited to: wing foilers travelling with a full setup, riders carrying more than one board, and anyone who wants wheels rather than carrying a heavily loaded board bag through airports and car parks.
It may be more bag than you need if: you only want lightweight protection for one board on local journeys. For regular car-to-beach use, the more compact ION Wing Board Bag Core may be easier to live with.
Choosing the correct size
Choose the bag using your board’s actual length and width rather than its stated foot size alone. Standard wing versions accommodate boards up to 69 cm wide, but the 6'0 version is a substantially narrower format with a maximum board width of 53 cm.
Allow additional space for thick rails, kick pads, handles and unusually wide board shapes. The quoted capacity is a practical guide rather than a guarantee that every combination of boards, wings and foil components will fit.

Important 6'0 sizing note: the 6'0 bag is only 55 cm wide externally and accepts boards up to approximately 53 cm wide. It is not suitable for most conventional wide wing boards. Check your board’s complete dimensions before ordering this version.
Features in plain English
CURV moulded base plate
The lower section of a travel bag receives the greatest amount of abrasion when it is pulled, stood upright or moved across airport floors. ION’s moulded CURV plate stiffens this area and gives the loaded bag a more stable platform.
Bag Breeze 2.0
Ventilated sections at the front and tail help air circulate around damp equipment. The mesh areas remain padded, so ventilation does not come at the expense of basic board protection.
Connective Handle and wheels
The wheels carry most of the load, while the Connective Handle can be attached to a luggage trolley for easier movement through an airport. This is particularly useful once the bag contains boards, wings, foil parts and other equipment.
Sherpa Belt
The Sherpa Belt lets you support the bag across your shoulders when steps, gravel or uneven ground make the wheels difficult to use.

Boards, wings, foils, pumps, protective covers and other accessories shown or referred to are not included.
Travel and packing advice
- Remove the foil from the board before packing.
- Disassemble the mast, fuselage, front wing and stabiliser where practical.
- Use individual foil covers or additional padding around carbon components and sharp edges.
- Do not place loose screws, tools or uncovered foil parts directly against your board.
- Secure the contents so heavier components cannot move around inside the bag.
- Rinse and dry saltwater equipment before long-term storage.
- Check the airline’s sports-luggage dimensions, weight allowance and fees before travelling.
A large Gearbag TEC can hold a substantial amount of equipment, but airline weight limits may be reached before all of the available space is used.

Will my wing board fit?
Measure the board’s complete length and width, including its widest point. Standard versions accept boards up to 69 cm wide. The 6'0 narrow version accepts boards only up to approximately 53 cm wide, so it will not fit most wider wing boards.
Which size should I choose?
Choose the smallest bag that comfortably accommodates your longest and widest board, while leaving enough room for its thickness and rail shape. Move up a size when carrying two boards or particularly bulky wings, but remember that a larger bag is heavier and can be less convenient when partly filled.
Can the bag carry two wing boards?
The 5'9, 6'3 and 6'8 standard wing versions are designed to carry up to two suitable boards and three wings. Actual capacity depends on board thickness, rail shape, wing sizes and how the foil components are packed.
Does the foil fit inside?
A dismantled foil can normally be packed inside alongside the boards and wings. The foil should be separated into components and protected with covers or extra padding. Do not pack uncovered carbon wings, mast edges or loose fixings directly against the board.
Is it suitable for everyday use?
It can be used for everyday transport, but it is primarily a full travel gear bag. For one board and regular car-to-beach journeys, a lighter dedicated wing board bag will usually be quicker to load and easier to store.
Will an airline accept it?
Airline policies vary considerably. Most versions will be treated as oversized sports luggage, and additional charges or advance booking may apply. Check the packed dimensions and total weight against your airline’s current policy before travelling.
