Description

The Jobe Flow E-Fin adds smooth, controllable electric assistance to a compatible paddleboard or kayak. It is designed for paddlers who want to travel further, reduce the effort required on longer trips or make it easier for a mixed-ability group to stay together.

Rather than committing to a dedicated electric board, the Flow E-Fin replaces your standard fin and can be removed when you want to return to normal paddling. Three supplied fin-box adapters make it compatible with a broad range of inflatable SUPs and kayaks, while the paddle-mounted remote keeps the controls conveniently within reach.

With assistance up to 8 km/h, a replaceable 180 Wh battery and a quoted runtime of up to four hours, this is a practical upgrade for recreational cruising, gentle touring and relaxed exploration. It remains a paddle-assist product rather than an eFoil or high-powered electric craft, making it accessible to paddlers who still want a familiar SUP experience.

Who is the Jobe Flow E-Fin for?

The Flow E-Fin is particularly useful for recreational and touring paddlers who enjoy being on the water but would appreciate some additional help. It can make longer routes more manageable, help partners with different paddling speeds stay together and reduce fatigue when returning at the end of a session.

  • Paddlers who want to extend the distance of their normal SUP trips.
  • Couples or families with different levels of strength and experience.
  • Touring paddlers carrying additional equipment.
  • Kayak users looking for compact, removable electric assistance.
  • Paddlers who want an electric upgrade without replacing their existing board.
  • Anyone who wants assistance to remain optional rather than permanently integrated into the board.

It may not be the right choice for shallow river paddling, surf use, white water, exposed offshore routes or riders looking for the speed and flight of a full electric foil. Browse our electric foil and eFoil collection if you are looking for a fully powered foiling experience.

Why choose the Jobe Flow E-Fin?

Turn a compatible board into an assisted SUP

The Flow E-Fin replaces the board’s normal fin, avoiding the need for a permanently modified or dedicated electric paddleboard. You can use the assistance when it is helpful, then reinstall your conventional fin for normal paddling.

Three different operating modes

The paddle-mounted remote gives you three ways to use the motor, allowing the assistance to feel more natural or more direct depending on your session.

  • Paddle Mode: assistance is delivered as you paddle, helping to reinforce each stroke while retaining a more traditional SUP feel.
  • Drive Mode: motor power follows the position of the remote’s control slider, giving you direct control over the assistance.
  • Cruise Mode: maintains a selected power level for relaxed, consistent progress.
  • Reverse: provides additional control when manoeuvring near a launch point, pontoon or bank.

Up to 8 km/h of assistance

The Flow E-Fin has a quoted maximum speed of up to 8 km/h. Actual speed will vary according to the board shape, rider and passenger weight, equipment carried, water conditions, wind, current and selected power setting.

On a longer touring paddleboard, the motor can provide efficient assistance while the board’s waterline helps retain glide. A wider all-round board will normally feel more stable but may not travel quite as efficiently.

Replaceable 180 Wh battery

The integrated 18V, 10Ah battery provides 180 Wh of capacity and is designed to be replaceable. This is important for long-term ownership because the complete fin does not need to be discarded when the battery eventually reaches the end of its service life.

Jobe quotes a runtime of up to four hours. As with any electric watersports product, this represents use in favourable conditions and at lower assistance levels. Sustained high-power operation, heavier loads, headwinds, current and colder temperatures will reduce the available runtime.

Compact and easy to transfer

At approximately 2 kg, the Flow E-Fin remains compact enough to transport with an inflatable SUP or kayak package. It can also be moved between compatible boards, making it a useful option for households with more than one paddleboard.

Fin-box compatibility

The package includes adapters for three commonly used inflatable paddleboard fin systems:

  • US fin box
  • Slide-in fin box
  • Jobe EZ-Lock fin box

This gives the Flow E-Fin broad compatibility, but it should not be treated as completely universal. Proprietary click-fin systems, fixed fins, twin-fin boards and fin boxes with unusual dimensions may not accept any of the supplied adapters.

Check the fin box on your board before ordering. Our SUP fin collection can help you identify common systems, or contact The SUP Company with photographs of your existing fin and fin box if you would like us to check compatibility.

Real-world buying advice

The Flow E-Fin works best as an assistance system rather than as a replacement for basic paddling ability. You should still carry a suitable paddle, wear the correct personal flotation equipment and plan a route that you are capable of completing without motor assistance.

It should not be relied upon as an emergency propulsion system. Battery charge, weeds, fishing line, shallow water or debris can all interrupt the motor, so normal judgement and self-rescue capability remain essential.

For the best experience, pair it with a stable board that has sufficient volume for the rider, equipment and any passenger. A heavily overloaded or very short board will be less efficient and may provide noticeably less speed and runtime. Browse our paddleboards or Jobe watersports collection when building a complete setup.

Frequently asked questions

Will the Jobe Flow E-Fin fit my paddleboard?

It fits many boards using a US box, conventional slide-in box or Jobe EZ-Lock system. It will not fit every proprietary fin box. Check your existing fin system carefully or send our team a photograph before ordering.

Can I fit it to a kayak?

Yes, it can be fitted to compatible kayaks that use one of the supported fin-box systems. Compatibility depends on the fin box rather than simply whether the craft is described as a SUP or kayak.

Does the Flow E-Fin replace my paddle?

No. You must carry and use a suitable paddle. The Flow E-Fin is an assistance system and should not be relied upon as your only way of returning to shore.

How long does the battery last?

Jobe quotes up to four hours, but runtime depends heavily on the selected power level, rider weight, board efficiency, temperature, wind and current. Continuous use at higher power will provide a considerably shorter runtime than intermittent low-level assistance.

Can it be used in salt water?

Yes. Rinse the complete fin thoroughly with clean fresh water after each saltwater session, remove any sand or debris and allow it to dry before storage or charging.

Can I use it in shallow rivers?

The recommended minimum water depth is more than 0.5 metres. It is not a good choice for shallow rivers where the propeller or fin could contact the bottom, stones, weeds or submerged objects.

Can I take the Flow E-Fin on an aircraft?

The battery is rated at 180 Wh. Batteries above 160 Wh are normally subject to significant passenger-airline restrictions and may not be accepted as standard luggage. Check directly with the airline and relevant transport provider before planning any journey.

Is the Jobe Flow E-Fin an eFoil?

No. It propels a paddleboard or kayak across the surface and does not lift the board above the water. Riders looking for powered hydrofoil flight should compare our eFoils and electric foil systems.

Are finance options available?

Available payment and finance options depend on the product price, basket value and customer eligibility. See our watersports finance information for current details.

Need a compatibility check?

The correct fin-box adapter is essential. Before ordering, compare the supplied US, Slide-in and EZ-Lock adapters with the fin currently fitted to your board. For help, contact The SUP Company with the board brand, model, year and clear photographs of the fin and empty fin box.
