Description

Starboard 12’6 Touring ONE Deluxe Lite Inflatable Paddleboard Package - 2026

The Starboard 12’6 Touring ONE Deluxe Lite Package is Starboard’s most accessible route into proper touring paddleboarding. It is built for paddlers who want to go further than a standard all-round board will comfortably allow, without jumping straight into a premium touring package or a narrower, more technical shape.

At 12’6” x 30”, this board gives a useful blend of glide, stability and manoeuvrability. The longer waterline helps you cover distance more efficiently, while the 30” width keeps the board approachable for developing paddlers. It is a very good choice for rivers, harbours, canals, lakes and sheltered coastal exploring.

The ONE package keeps things simple: a lightweight touring board in Deluxe Lite construction, supplied with a Starboard 3-piece Tufskin paddle, lightweight leash, double-action Tiki pump and Re-Cover wheely roll bag.

Why choose the Touring ONE?

The Touring ONE is designed for paddlers starting their touring journey. Compared with a typical 10’6 all-round inflatable, it glides more freely, tracks straighter and makes longer paddles feel less stop-start. You will notice the benefit when you are paddling with friends, covering a few miles, or carrying a small dry bag for a day on the water.

It is not the most premium or fastest inflatable touring board in the Starboard range. That is not the point. The strength of the Touring ONE is that it gives you a genuine touring shape, Starboard’s lightweight Deluxe Lite construction and a complete package at a more accessible price.

Who is it best for?

  • Paddlers moving on from a basic all-round board.
  • Beginners who already know they want to paddle further, not just potter close to shore.
  • Intermediate paddlers wanting a light, efficient inflatable touring SUP.
  • Riders around 50-100kg looking for a good balance of speed, stability and easy handling.
  • Customers who want a complete Starboard package with paddle, pump, leash and bag included.

Who may be better on something else?

  • If you want maximum day-one stability for family use, a wider all-round board may feel easier.
  • If you regularly paddle with a dog, child or lots of kit, consider a wider or higher-volume touring option.
  • If you are closer to 110kg and want extra confidence in chop, it may be worth comparing with larger touring boards.
  • If you want a faster board for fitness mileage or racing, look at the race paddleboard collection or higher-performance Starboard touring options.

Range positioning and buying advice

The Touring ONE sits below Starboard’s more premium Touring Deluxe options, but keeps the key ingredients most paddlers need: a proper touring outline, lightweight Deluxe Lite construction, welded rails and a complete paddleboard package.

If you are choosing between this and a standard all-round SUP, choose the Touring ONE if distance, glide and exploring are your priorities. Choose an all-round board if you mainly want short beach paddles, family stability and casual use close to shore.

If you are choosing between this and a 14’ touring board, choose the 12’6 Touring ONE if you want easier handling, easier storage and a more manageable board. Choose a 14’ touring board if you want more glide, more carrying capacity and better efficiency over longer distances.

Try before you buy

If you are unsure whether a touring board is right for you, visit The SUP Company at Woodmill, Southampton and book a session at our SUP Test Centre. Trying a 12’6 touring board against a shorter all-round board is one of the easiest ways to feel the difference in glide, tracking and stability.

FAQs

Is the Starboard Touring ONE suitable for beginners?

Yes, if you are a beginner who wants to progress into touring and distance paddling. It is longer and more efficient than a typical all-round board, but the 30” width keeps it approachable for developing paddlers.

What rider weight does the 12’6 Touring ONE suit?

The manufacturer specification lists a 50-100kg rider weight range, with the board also described as suited for riders up to 110kg. In practice, riders nearer the upper end should consider their experience level, local conditions and whether they plan to carry extra kit.

How does the Touring ONE compare with a normal all-round paddleboard?

The Touring ONE is faster and more efficient over distance. A standard all-round board will usually feel easier for very short casual paddles and family use, but the Touring ONE will track straighter and glide better when you start covering more ground.

Does this package include a paddle?

Yes. This package includes Starboard’s durable 3-piece Tufskin paddle, along with a lightweight leash, double-action Tiki pump and Re-Cover wheely roll bag.

What is Deluxe Lite construction?

Deluxe Lite is Starboard’s lightest and best-value inflatable construction. It uses woven dropstitch to help reduce weight and improve stiffness, with welded rail technology for a stronger airtight seam.

What does “packs 33% smaller” mean?

The 3-piece foldable fin box allows the board to be rolled into a more compact shape rather than folded in the traditional way. Starboard states this reduces the packed size by 33%, making it easier to transport and store.

Can I use the Touring ONE on the sea?

Yes, in suitable sheltered coastal conditions. It is best used on calmer sea states, harbours, estuaries, rivers, canals and lakes. It is not designed for surf or exposed offshore paddling.

Can I try a Starboard touring board before buying?

Yes. Our SUP Test Centre at Woodmill, Southampton is ideal for comparing touring boards, all-round boards and different Starboard shapes before choosing.

Specifications

  • Features

    Lightweight and accessible touring

The Touring ONE is designed as an easy entry point into touring. The 12’6 length helps the board glide further with each stroke, so you can cover distance more comfortably than you would on a shorter all-round SUP.

    Smooth, stable glide

The straighter outline and relatively narrow midsection help you keep the paddle closer to the board. In real terms, that means better tracking, less zig-zagging and a smoother paddling rhythm.

    Deluxe Lite construction

Starboard’s Deluxe Lite construction is the lightest and best-value construction in this part of the inflatable range. It uses woven dropstitch to help make the board lighter and stiffer, improving efficiency on the water and making the board easier to carry off it.

    Welded Rail Technology

The welded rail creates a mechanically bonded, airtight seam without relying on traditional glue in the same way. This helps improve long-term durability and is one of the reasons Starboard inflatable boards have such a strong reputation.

    Packs 33% smaller

The patented 3-piece foldable fin box allows the board to be rolled rather than conventionally folded. Starboard states this reduces the packed size by 33%, making it easier to fit into the compact roll bag, store at home or travel with in the car.

    Foldable drop fin box

The 3-piece foldable fin box is designed to help the board pack smaller and reduce drag. For touring, that is useful because cleaner water release and reduced drag help the board feel more efficient over distance.

    Edge Release

The Edge Release system creates a sharper release point at the tail, helping water leave the board more cleanly. This supports better glide and speed, especially when paddling on flatter water.

    Bungee tie-down system

Wide adjustable deck bungees with metal easy clips give you space to carry a small dry bag, drinks bottle, spare layer or light picnic kit. For day touring, pair it with a waterproof bag from our waterproof bags collection.

    Soft carry handle

The soft EVA neoprene centre handle makes carrying the board more comfortable, especially when walking from car park to launch spot.

    Kick tail

The raised kick tail helps with step-back turns and gives you more control when pivoting the board. It is also helpful when moving around on the board in choppier conditions.

    Nose D-ring

The front nose D-ring makes the board easier to handle, tie down or secure when needed.
