Description
The Foil Paddle is designed for high-performance SUP foil downwinding. Its low-aspect blade ratio delivers quick acceleration and strong performance at lower speeds, making it ideal for getting onto foil. The shorter blade height provides extra clearance between the blade and foil, enhancing control and efficiency.
With paddles, the difference between 'fine' and 'really right' is often bigger than people expect - weight, stiffness, blade shape and packability all change how a session feels.
Where it sits in the range
This is a more specialist Starboard paddle aimed at foil use rather than general SUP paddling. If you mainly paddle flat water or touring boards, a Lima or Enduro is usually the better fit.

Should I choose 3-piece, 2-piece or fixed length?
A 3-piece is the easiest for travel, storage and sharing. A 2-piece is the natural step up for regular paddlers who want a stiffer, quicker-feeling setup. Fixed length is the lightest and most direct option once you know your ideal size.
Can I compare paddles before buying?
Yes. At our Woodmill SUP Test Centre you can compare different paddles on the water, which is often the quickest way to feel what changes in blade shape, shaft stiffness and weight actually do.
