The Starboard Lima Carbon F35 2-Piece Adjustable Paddle (2027 Edition) combines Starboard’s world-championship-winning blade outline with a high-performance carbon layup and an energy-returning Flex 35 (F35) shaft. Positioned as the optimal balance between featherlight weight, structural responsiveness, and durability, this 2-piece setup delivers race-grade stroke efficiency and touring comfort without the fragile vulnerability or top-tier price tag of a pure pre-preg ultra-light build.

Engineered around Starboard’s iconic Twin Ribs and pronounced power concave blade geometry, the Lima Carbon locks into the water immediately on the catch to eliminate blade flutter and torso torque. Paired with Starboard’s F35 medium-stiff shaft flex, the paddle absorbs peak joint shock on entry and releases dynamic spring recoil through the exit—giving you high-cadence speed with less shoulder and back strain.

Is the Lima better than the Enduro?

Not better for everyone – just better for a different job. The Lima is the faster, cleaner-feeling blade for paddlers who care about efficiency, speed and a more precise stroke. The Enduro Carbon F35 2 Piece is usually the better choice if you want a more all-round paddle for mixed conditions, more casual paddling or a slightly more forgiving blade feel.

Why choose the 2-piece version instead of the 3-piece?

Choose the 2-piece if this is your regular paddle and you want the cleanest adjustable feel with easier storage and transport than a fixed paddle. Choose the 3-piece version if you need a smaller packed size for travel, vans or tighter storage spaces.

Is the F35 shaft flex right for most paddlers?

Yes – for many paddlers, F35 is the sensible middle ground. It has enough stiffness to feel quick and responsive, but enough flex to stay comfortable over longer sessions. It is a very good match for regular touring, fitness paddling and fast recreational use.

What size should I choose: M or L?

M is usually the safer choice for paddlers who want a quicker cadence and easier rhythm over distance. Is this a good upgrade from a standard package paddle?

Yes – and it is one of the upgrades most paddlers notice straight away. A lighter carbon paddle with a cleaner blade shape makes your board feel more responsive, reduces fatigue and generally makes every paddle stroke feel more efficient. If you are paddling regularly and still using a heavier entry-level paddle, this is the sort of upgrade that genuinely changes the experience.

Does F35 describe the carbon percentage?

No. F35 refers to the shaft flex specification. Blade size changes the load you feel too, so consider the shaft and blade together rather than assuming the largest blade is the best upgrade.
