Duotone Carve 3.0 SLS 1100 Complete Foil Set – 82cm Aero Mid QM SLS – Lightly Used
This lightly used Duotone Carve 3.0 SLS 1100 complete foil setup remains in excellent condition and combines one of the most versatile sizes in the Carve 3.0 range with Duotone's premium Aero Mid QM SLS carbon mast.
Built around the 1100cm² Carve 3.0 SLS front wing, this is a noticeably more accessible and supportive setup than the smaller 800 and 950 versions. It still delivers the speed, glide and carving response the Carve range is designed for, but with earlier lift and greater low-speed stability. Paired with the recommended PX175 stabiliser, 66cm Aero AL 3BS fuselage and versatile 82cm carbon mast, it makes an excellent performance setup for progressing and experienced wing foilers.
The complete foil has seen light use only and remains in excellent overall condition. Protective covers are included.
Condition
- Lightly used / pre-owned
- Excellent overall condition
- Only minor cosmetic signs of use should be expected from equipment that has been on the water
- Complete matched Duotone foil setup
- Protective covers included
For somebody looking at a new premium Duotone carbon foil setup, this is a particularly attractive alternative. The key performance components are all here, but without the cost of buying the front wing, stabiliser, fuselage and carbon mast separately at new retail prices.
Complete Foil Setup Includes
- Duotone Carve 3.0 SLS Front Wing – 1100cm²
- Duotone PX Stabilizer – 175cm²
- Duotone Aero AL 3BS Fuselage – 66cm

Why Choose the Carve 3.0 SLS 1100?
The Duotone Carve 3.0 SLS is designed for riders who want a foil that turns properly without giving away the glide, pumping efficiency and pitch control needed for everyday wing foiling.
Within the Carve 3.0 SLS range, the 1100 is one of the most useful all-round sizes. The additional surface area gives earlier lift and more support than the smaller Carve wings, making it less demanding when the wind backs off or when coming through gybes and foot changes.
Once up and running, however, it still feels like a performance foil rather than a large progression wing. It carries speed efficiently, rolls smoothly from rail to rail and has enough glide to connect turns and sections of swell without constantly relying on wing power.
Carve Performance with More Support
Compared with the smaller sizes in the range, the 1100 makes sense for riders who want the character of the Carve 3.0 but do not want to be permanently powered up.
- Earlier lift: easier to get flying than the 800 or 950, particularly in marginal conditions.
- More low-speed support: helpful through gybes, tacks and moments when wing power drops away.
- Strong pump and glide: useful for connecting swell and carrying speed between turns.
- Responsive carving: much more manoeuvrable than choosing a foil purely around maximum lift.
- Good pitch control: predictable as speed builds and through transitions.
- Broad usability: an excellent size for everyday freeride, waves and progression into more performance-led foiling.
PX175 Stabiliser – The Correct Pairing
This setup uses the Duotone PX175 Stabilizer, which is the recommended PX pairing for the Carve 3.0 SLS 1100.
The PX range was developed alongside the Carve 3.0 and is designed to improve pitch control while reducing unnecessary drag and front-foot pressure. With the 1100, the 175 provides a very good balance of stability and manoeuvrability without making the foil feel overly locked in.
For a rider stepping down from a larger progression foil, this combination is particularly appealing: there is enough rear-wing support to keep the foil predictable, while the complete setup still feels substantially more agile and efficient.
66cm Aero AL 3BS Fuselage
The 66cm Duotone Aero AL 3BS fuselage is a strong all-round length for modern wing foiling.
It is short enough to allow the Carve 1100 to turn freely, but not so short that pitch control becomes unnecessarily demanding. This gives the setup a useful mixture of stability, pump response, carving freedom and control.
For most riders looking at this package as an everyday performance foil rather than a specialist freestyle setup, 66cm is a very sensible fuselage choice.
82cm Aero Mid QM SLS Carbon Mast
The Duotone Aero Mid QM SLS is the premium element that really finishes this setup.
At 82cm, it is arguably the most versatile mast length for general wing foiling. It gives enough clearance for chop and committed carving without putting the rider unnecessarily high above the water.
- 82cm length: an excellent all-round size for coastal and inland wing foiling.
- Prepreg carbon construction: lighter and more direct than an aluminium mast setup.
- Stiff, responsive feel: allows rider input to reach the foil quickly and accurately.
- Low-drag Mid profile: designed to balance speed and efficiency with dependable stiffness.
- Quickmount system: makes regular setup and pack-down significantly easier.
Why 82cm Rather Than 90cm?
For most recreational and performance wing foilers, we would regard the 82cm mast as the more versatile option.
A 90cm mast gives additional clearance in larger chop and allows very deep banking angles, but it also places the rider higher above the foil. The 82cm keeps the setup slightly more manageable, is easier during touchdowns and still provides ample height for coastal winging and carving.
Matched with the larger Carve 1100, it creates a particularly well-balanced setup.
Who Does This Setup Suit?
We would recommend this package to a progressing intermediate through to advanced wing foiler who wants a quality performance foil without immediately dropping onto a very small front wing.
It is particularly well suited to riders who:
- Are consistently getting onto foil and want to progress beyond a larger beginner setup
- Want earlier lift without moving to a slow, oversized front wing
- Enjoy freeriding and carving swell
- Want improved pump and glide
- Prefer a foil that remains manageable when the wind becomes lighter
- Want to upgrade from an aluminium mast to a premium carbon setup
- Want one foil capable of covering a broad range of normal UK winging conditions
Who Might Prefer Something Else?
If you are taking your very first flights, we would normally recommend a larger, more progression-focused foil with greater low-speed stability. The Carve 1100 is more forgiving than the smaller Carve sizes, but it remains a performance-oriented design.
At the other end of the scale, an experienced lighter rider who regularly wings powered up and prioritises maximum speed, freestyle or very tight wave riding may prefer the Carve 3.0 SLS 950 or 800.
For riders who prioritise outright glide and pumping efficiency over carving response, it is also worth comparing the Carve with the Duotone Glide 2.0 SLS.

Carve 1100 vs Carve 950
If you are deciding between the two, think less about which is the more advanced foil and more about the conditions you actually want to ride.
Choose the 1100 if you value earlier lift, more support through transitions, easier pumping and a broader wind range. Choose the 950 if you are happy to generate more board speed before take-off and want a quicker, looser foil once flying.
For many progressing wing foilers, particularly in changeable UK wind, the 1100 is the easier size to get more time on foil without giving away the playful character that makes the Carve range appealing.
A Premium Complete Foil Without the New Price
Buying this setup component by component means purchasing a premium SLS carbon front wing, PX stabiliser, 3BS fuselage and Aero Mid QM SLS carbon mast separately.
This lightly used package brings everything together into a properly matched Duotone performance foil that has seen little use and remains in excellent condition. For somebody already considering a carbon Duotone setup, it represents a particularly strong route into the Carve 3.0 platform.

FAQs
What condition is this foil setup in?
This is a pre-owned foil setup that has been lightly used and remains in excellent overall condition. Minor cosmetic signs of normal foil use may be present, but it has seen relatively little time on the water.
Are protective covers included?
Yes. Protective covers are included with this complete setup.
Is the PX175 the correct stabiliser for the Carve 1100?
Yes. The PX175 is Duotone's recommended PX stabiliser pairing for the Carve 3.0 SLS 1100, giving a good balance of pitch control, pumping efficiency and manoeuvrability.
Is the Carve 3.0 SLS 1100 suitable as a first foil?
It is considerably more accessible than the smaller Carve sizes, but we would still regard it as a progression and performance foil rather than a dedicated beginner foil. If you are yet to achieve consistent flights, a larger progression-focused front wing will normally make learning easier.
Is the 1100 a good size for lighter wind?
Yes. The extra area provides earlier lift and better low-speed support than the 800 or 950. It is a good option for riders wanting Carve performance across a broader wind range without moving all the way to the larger 1300.
Why is the 82cm mast a good all-round choice?
An 82cm mast gives enough clearance for normal coastal chop and committed turns while keeping the rider closer to the foil than a 90cm mast. For everyday wing foiling it is one of the most versatile mast lengths.
What does the Quickmount system do?
Duotone's Quickmount system allows the mast to be removed from its board plate much more quickly, while the plate can remain positioned in the board tracks. This reduces setup time and means you do not need to find your preferred mast position again every session.
Can I add smaller or larger front wings later?
Yes. A major advantage of this setup is its modularity. Compatible Duotone front wings and stabilisers can be added later while retaining the mast and fuselage, allowing you to build different foil combinations around the same core system.
