Description

Jobe Neva 12'6 Inflatable Paddleboard Package

The Jobe Neva 12'6 is a touring inflatable paddleboard for paddlers who want to travel further with less effort. Its longer, narrower outline glides more efficiently and tracks straighter than a conventional 10'6 all-round SUP, making it a strong choice for rivers, canals, lakes, estuaries and sheltered coastal routes.

At 30 inches wide, the Neva balances useful stability with noticeably better speed. It suits confident beginners who already know they want to tour, as well as intermediate paddlers upgrading from a shorter, wider first board. The complete package includes the board, paddle, pump, fin, leash and waterproof backpack, so there is no need to build a setup from separate components.

Why choose the Jobe Neva?

  • Efficient 12'6 touring shape: glides further with each paddle stroke and holds a straighter course over distance.
  • 30-inch width: quicker and less cumbersome than a wide family board while retaining practical touring stability.
  • Lightweight construction: the board weighs approximately 10.2kg, making it manageable to carry, pack and transport.
  • Double stringer reinforcement: additional material running along the top and underside helps the inflated board feel firmer underfoot.
  • Complete package: supplied with a 40% carbon paddle, double-action pump, waterproof backpack, coiled leash and tool-free fin.
  • Useful carrying capacity: 320 litres of volume and front bungee storage provide room for dry bags, clothing and touring essentials.
  • Five-year Jobe warranty: reassuring manufacturer cover against qualifying manufacturing faults, subject to Jobe's warranty terms.

Who is the Jobe Neva 12'6 for?

The Neva makes most sense for paddlers who value glide, tracking and distance capability more than maximum stationary stability. It is particularly well suited to fitness paddles, river trips, canal exploring, longer lake sessions and sheltered coastal touring.

It can be used as a first board by an active, reasonably confident beginner, but it is not the most forgiving option for someone who is especially nervous about balance. At 30 inches wide, it will feel more responsive than a 32–34-inch all-round board.

Choose the Neva if you:

  • Plan to paddle several kilometres rather than staying close to the launch point.
  • Want straighter tracking and fewer paddle-side changes.
  • Are progressing from a shorter all-round inflatable SUP.
  • Want enough storage for clothing, refreshments and touring equipment.
  • Need a performance-oriented board that still packs into a car or cupboard.

Consider a different board if you:

  • Want the widest and most reassuring platform for learning.
  • Regularly plan to carry a child, large dog or second adult.
  • Primarily want a board for playing, yoga or sitting together close to shore.
  • Need a highly manoeuvrable board for tight spaces or small surf.

Features explained

Long touring outline

The 12'6 length helps the Neva maintain momentum between strokes. Its pointed nose separates the water more cleanly than the rounded nose of an all-round board, while the relatively straight outline encourages better tracking.

Lightweight X-dropstitch construction

Thousands of internal threads hold the upper and lower surfaces together as the board is inflated. Jobe's X-dropstitch layout is designed to provide the required structure without making the board unnecessarily heavy or awkward to pack.

Heat-bonded construction

Heat-bonded layers reduce reliance on heavy applications of glue. In practical terms, this helps Jobe produce a lighter board while maintaining the layered construction expected from a regularly used touring SUP.

Top and bottom stringers

Reinforcement through the centre of the board limits unwanted flex. This gives the paddler a firmer platform, improves power transfer and helps the board maintain its intended waterline when carrying touring equipment.

Improved nose and tail shape

The nose carries enough width to prevent the board feeling excessively narrow, while the rounded tail and tail diffusor encourage a cleaner water release. The result is an efficient shape that remains accessible to recreational paddlers.

8-inch EZ Lock fin

The supplied touring fin slots into place without tools or loose screws. Its depth improves directional stability, helping the Neva hold its course during longer stretches of paddling.

Comfortable touring deck

The 5mm EVA deck pad provides grip and cushioning for longer sessions. A neoprene centre handle makes carrying more comfortable and incorporates a practical paddle holder for use at the water's edge.

Front cargo storage

The bungee storage area can secure a suitable waterproof or dry bag. Keep heavier items low, evenly distributed and close to the centre of the board to preserve handling.

  • Adjustable three-piece paddle with 40% carbon construction

Board weight Approximately 10.2kg
Stated maximum rider weight Up to 150kg

The stated 150kg figure is a manufacturer maximum rather than a guarantee of ideal performance for every paddler. Rider height, experience, luggage and water conditions all influence stability. Heavier first-time paddlers may be more comfortable on a wider board.

Jobe Neva, Duna or Loa?

Choose the Neva 12'6 for the best glide and straight-line efficiency in Jobe's recreational touring range. Its 30-inch width rewards paddlers who want to build speed and cover distance.

Choose the Jobe Duna 11'6 if you want a shorter, slightly wider touring board that feels more manageable for mixed recreational paddling.

Choose the Jobe Loa 11'6 if stability, family use and carrying a child or dog matter more than outright touring speed.

Useful upgrades and accessories

The supplied paddle is a good match for recreational touring. Paddlers covering longer distances may eventually benefit from a lighter or more responsive paddle, which reduces swing weight over thousands of strokes. Browse our SUP paddles or use the SUP paddle buying guide to compare constructions.

An electric pump is another worthwhile upgrade for regular use, particularly when inflating several boards. A properly fitted buoyancy aid, weather-appropriate clothing and a waterproof means of communication should also form part of a sensible touring setup.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Jobe Neva suitable for beginners?

Yes, provided the paddler is reasonably confident and wants a board for touring. Its 30-inch width is less forgiving than a wide beginner board, so nervous first-time paddlers may prefer a model around 32–34 inches wide.

How stable is a 12'6 x 30-inch paddleboard?

The length provides good fore-and-aft stability and the board becomes settled once moving. The narrower width makes it more responsive from side to side than a family all-rounder, but this is the trade-off for improved glide and speed.

Can I use the Jobe Neva on the sea?

Yes, in suitable sheltered coastal conditions. Always assess wind direction, tide, weather and local hazards before launching. Avoid offshore winds and use safety equipment appropriate to the location and conditions.

Can I take a child or dog on the Neva?

A small passenger may be possible within the board's load limit, but the 30-inch platform is designed primarily for efficient solo touring. For frequent family use or carrying a larger dog, the wider Jobe Loa is normally the more reassuring option.

What pressure should the board be inflated to?

Inflate the Neva within Jobe's stated 14–20 PSI range and do not exceed the maximum pressure marked beside the valve. Check pressure with the supplied pump gauge and reduce pressure if the inflated board will be left in strong heat or direct sunlight.

Is the supplied leash suitable everywhere?

The coiled ankle leash is intended for suitable flat-water and sheltered-water paddling. It should not be treated as a universal leash for flowing rivers or other snag hazards. Moving water may require a suitable quick-release waist system and the knowledge to use it correctly.

Does the package fit into a normal car?

Yes. When deflated, the board and package components pack into the supplied backpack and will fit into most car boots. Dry the board and accessories thoroughly before longer-term storage.

How should I look after an inflatable SUP?

Rinse off salt, sand and mud after use, allow the equipment to dry and store it away from excessive heat and direct sunlight. Do not drag the board over sharp surfaces, and avoid leaving it fully pressurised inside a hot vehicle.
